About the author

Hi, it’s Keir Finlow-Bates here. I’m currently an inventor of blockchain technologies and an entrepreneur, living in Finland with my Finnish wife and our large happy family. I was born in Australia but grew up in Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands.
I went to Cambridge University to study mathematics, but switched to information engineering in my final year, mainly because half the course was a repeat of the second year mathematics course and it seemed like an easier option. I then moved on to London South Bank University where I gained a Ph.D. in mathematics and education.
I’ve spent most of my career as a software test engineer and quality assurance manager. I used to have hobbies such as foraging for wild mushrooms, brewing my own beer, and writing bad poetry, but these days I split my time equally between working on new blockchain concepts, looking after my kids, and when I get the chance, sleeping.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2022I really enjoyed his book. The author came across as authentic as he suggests you should be in the book. It was definitely a different viewpoint on LinkedIn. It wasn’t too long and provided great content. Check it out!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2020As in apparently all things he’s done, at least all those I’ve seen on LinkedIn, Kier gets right to the point, with low-key humor. All of his advice is sound, even obvious. But that’s not a criticism because things that seemed obvious to me about what to do on LinkedIn we’re confirmed by Kier, plus he had things I hadn’t thought of. And, hey, the book was what two bucks? I got $25 worth of value out of it easy. Maybe more. And Kier if you happen to see this, no I’m not going to send you a check, sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Only Need This Book
This is one of those topics we all know already, right?
To me it certainly seemed pretty obvious. But then, when you look at your profile and go back through old posts, it becomes blatantly clear that you’ve just been completely winging-it, putting stuff out there without any thought or due care and attention.
Once you have accepted that fact and have made a conscious decision to do something about it, then this is the only book you need.
Having followed Keir for some time on LinkedIn, the proof of his theoretical pudding is in the daily taste of his posts… which if you haven’t already, I highly recommend you check out.
In conclusion, this is an excellent book and covers everything you need to create a successful personal brand on LinkedIn - 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful easy to understand guide
I know Keir’s brand from LinkedIn where you can quickly see how this short book does really represent the truth of exactly how he built his brand. It works. I added a second view chart after about a year of following this approach. A big step forward in engagement.
