Another Mystery Solved
On their way to his country estate, Piers Witham, Viscount Petteril, and his assistant April are stopping at Lady Haggard’s house party to determine who defaced the portrait of her late husband. Possible perpetrators, and possible motives, are pondered, the suspect changes. The clues and the story hold your attention. The answer seems to have been discovered several times, but the answer to the mystery isn’t revealed until the end of the story. This is another interesting and entertaining Lord Petteril Mystery. The plot is well-written and engaging. There is drama and secrets, and apparently some danger. The characters are interesting. Piers’s cousin is a delight. April is a bit moody because she thinks Piers is leaving her with Lady Haggard (he did mention it before). Of course, in the end, April leaves with her favorite person. I am really enjoying the Lord Petteril Mysteries. I look forward to the next one.
