I'm going to tell you right upfront that this is one of those books. You are either going to embrace it because it pushes boundaries or detest it because it is too forbidden and it makes you uncomfortable and you know what? That is perfectly fine because everyone is allowed their opinion but I also think this is a book that is going to cause a lot of controversy, so if you want to read it, I suggest you get to it ASAP before the fallout starts. Now, as for myself I enjoyed this book. This is a forbidden romance that really skates the taboo edge and because of this it is not always an easy book to read. Mason and Jett's romance is dark, twisted, sizzling hot and so incredibly complicated. I would be lying if I said that this book never gave me reason to pause though. There are just certain instances and situations that honestly I wish the author hadn't inserted into this couple's story because I think they really, really muddy the waters; so to speak, by adding a slant to the story and some red flag moments that, in my opinion this book would have been much better without.

So...this was fun to read. And I know that you have to suspend reality to go along with this kind of books, but I still require that it's believable.
I think it helps to understand the context a bit: all people involved are still young and very young. Obviously, Jett is the youngest at 18, but Mason can't be older than 37-38 on my accounts, and her mother is around 34-35. This means that although Mason is with 19-20 years older than Jett, he is still a young man in his prime and virility. This can maybe explain a little the physical attraction and the lack of restraint between the two.
However, something that nags me is that it seems Mason waited until he had the paternity test results before he had intercourse with her, which means that he was not 100% sure that he wasn't the biological father. So, with such doubts he still had sex with her? Because for sure what they had done up to that point could be called sex even though no penetration had been involved. He practically deflowered her with his fingers FFS. It doesn't bode well for the sympathy we should gather for him supposedly.
The last scene, with the marriage proposal in the middle of his exhibition is simply unbelievable, especially in such a puritanical society as the American one (even in NY).
But the writing flows, the dialogues are good, the sex scenes are really good, so I enjoyed it. On the Daddy kink, this one really push things to the very far limits, outskirting the borders of pedophily.

I found this book to be very strange. The fact that he acted as her father for twelve years wasn't really a problem for me. The mother's big reveal was a huge overreaction and weird. Why did she live in fear all of those years when it would've been simple to check up on Jazz's real dad. I understand Jazz saying she wanted all of him, but it sounded disturbing to hear her say she wanted him to be her father, lover, and mentor. The characters did not give off the feeling that they were truly 'in love". It just never felt like they were a legitimate couple. Neither one of them seemed to ever overcome the damage from six years ago. It made the relationship feel unhealthy. I know that may sound crazy, but the daddy issue neither one of them seemed to be emotionally stable enough to be in any relationship. That made the very unconventional relationship feel strained and unhealthy. It wasn't a terrible book, and I really could be okay with the dad to stepdad to lover thing if they were more emotionally stable. Instead, it just felt strange.

I was pleasantly surprised by the story of Mason and Jett it was a passionate, slow burn angst ridden taboo story of love that’s not in the least an easy or straight road. The story had all the earmarks of Margot Scott’s quick and sometimes dirty insta-love older man/younger woman classics that I’ve come to enjoy. However, there were so many layers to both the hero and the heroine. Mason was definitely an alpha male but he wasn’t a jerk he cared for everyone that was important to him in his life even during times when it was the hardest and caused him untold pain and heartbreak.
Jett was an absolute powerhouse for someone so young; she had a wisdom beyond her years, she saw love not in the hearts and flowers way that most her age would see; she saw the layers in love the good, bad and just plain messed up but she never shied from it; there are some serious twist and unforeseen turns in this story that I didn’t see coming, dealing with a very sensitive subject matter, one that Ms. Scott handled with care, she neither avoided it, prettied it up or tried to rush the development of her main characters. Although there are similarities to MS signature style of writing this story is a definite departure from anything she has written. I enjoyed the full length story that I often have wished to have in MS novellas style stories, I look forward to more like it.
I don’t want to give away key plot points because it would ruin the story, however I will caution to say please go into it with an open mind and enjoy the beautiful and sometime maddening characters that Margot has created.

A Dark Taboo novella but it's not what you think.
Mason was an amazing father to Jett till one day he left & never came back. 6 years later Jett wants answers.
Upon meeting it seems Jetts anger is replaced with another emotion. Does Mason feel the same or is this the beginning of trouble.

Was abit unsure when I started reading, honestly didn't think I would finish it but I'm so glad I carried on, by the end of chapter 1 I was eager to find out the same answers as Jett.
Amazing descriptive scenes that brought every spicy scene to life expecially in the studio.

I do love the Daddy genre and this story was an enjoyable read with lots of heat flowing between the two main characters. The writing was good and the story line had depth.

Mason had bought Jetty up along side of her Mother since she was born until the age of twelve and then he just vanished from her life. She loved her Daddy very much so when he left it had a big impact on her life. Now Jetty is eighteen and has discovered that her mother has been telling lies, and that Mason is not her biological Father as she first thought. This leads her to go in search of Mason and to find some answers to the questions swirling around in her head.
What we get is a good story that flows really well and some incredibly hot steamy sex that is both naughty but oh so nice. As I said before this isn't a fluffy Daddy story, it has depth and angst with lots of little twists and turns that keeps you turning the page.

If you like taboo and a good " Daddy " story then pick this book up and give it a go.
