5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for programming & periodization
I recently purchased 'Programming & Periodization' by Coach Curtis, and I must say it's been a game-changer for me. This book is a comprehensive guide that provides invaluable insights into programming for training and periodization. Coach Curtis breaks down complex concepts into easy-to-understand principles, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced athletes.
The book is filled with practical examples, real-world case studies, and actionable advice that I've already started implementing into my training regimen. Coach Curtis's expertise shines through every page, and it's clear that he has a deep understanding of the subject matter.
Whether you're a coach looking to refine your programming strategies or an athlete seeking to optimize your training, 'Programming & Periodization' is a must-read. It's a resource I'll be referring back to time and time again. Thank you, Coach Curtis, for sharing your knowledge and expertise in such an approachable and impactful way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on fitness I have ever read!
I have dozens of fitness textbooks and this is by far the most accessible and is absolutely packed with useful info. It is the first textbook I am actually going to bring to the gym with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great training manual for coach and athletes - practical, clear, detailed
Over the last 30 years I have read allot of books, magazines and articles on fitness training so I consider myself to be reasonably well informed but definitely no expert. Not having a scientific mindset then I have sometimes struggled with the more technical concepts but this is where this strength and conditioning manual by coach Curtis really stands out for me. It is written more as a manual than a text book and is easier to follow and apply. There is detail, for instance the section on athlete testing is about 70 pages alone covering a huge range of sports and disciplines. I particularly liked the periodization section again for its clarity and practicality. The editorial style and layout makes the text easy and quick to understand, telling me what I need to know to apply the principles without over emphasizing the scientific concepts. I would say that this manual will appeal to coaches but also athletes who want to self help.
