Siobhan’s scent calls me to claim her, but I tell her the same lie I tell everyone else: I’m not interested in a mate. I focus on her delicious creations instead, even though she’s the one I truly crave.

Everyone is happily settling down in our post-apocalyptic fortress. But I can’t rest yet; I have to get to my sister. It was my last promise to her before communications went dark. Problem is, she lives across the country, and there are miles of bug-filled America between us.

When Zec’k, the sexy hunter who delivers and trades for supplies with our little colony, offers to help, I jump on the opportunity. It’s supposed to be an easy trip, but everything that could go wrong does. And now, I’m not sure I’ll survive this mission without falling for my Xarc’n guide.

    If you are looking for a sweet, low drama alien romance series, the Xarc’n Warriors books are made for you.

    This most recent book follows Siobhan, a human woman, and Z’eck, a Xarc’n Warrior delivery guy. There’s relatively little resistance for these two to come together and they are a very sweet couple. I enjoyed seeing a different side of Xarc’n lifestyle (supply delivery versus hunting), as well as other settlements. Siobhan is a brave woman with lots of grit and she and Z’eck play off each other’s strengths. It’s a fairly quick read, and I’d say medium spicy. Of course it has a HEA ending.

    This book can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend that you read at least the first book in the series before you read this book (book 8). Book 1 contains a lot of exposition about the post-apocalyptic world, humans, the Scourge, and the Xarc’n Warriors - all of which is helpful when reading book 8.

    I received a free (ARC) copy of this book through Book Sprout, and I am voluntarily leaving a review. However, I have previously read and enjoyed several books in this series through Kindle Unlimited, and I look forward to reading and purchasing other books by this author.

    I think Zec'k is one of my favorite hunters, even though he was a delivery person. His character was so hurt and had suffered so much, that you immediately wanted the best for him. Seeing how he lived and how Siobhan fit right in with him, it was just a great story. Them finding her sister finally After all their trials was icing on the cake! 😍

    Siobhan was a business owner before the bugpocalypse, doing what she loved, owning her own bakery. Somehow working in the kitchen to keep her fellow survivors fed, even if her meals get rave reviews, doesn't feel the same.

    Zec'k was a warrior, before he was injured. Now he delivers supplies to the hunters who are still able warriors, going out every day to fight the good fight.

    This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read revolves around two characters who are coming to terms with their present and discovering there is a future that can draw on the best of their past, and as it turns out, helps them to realize they are contributing more in the here and now than they realized.

    This is another of the great, well written,Alien/Human, SciFi romance by Lynnea Lee. This story is about Siobhan, looking for her sister and Zec’k, thinking he is not worthy of a mate and how they help each other. Some of the characters are in more of the stories. Read and enjoy.

    I brought, own, kept and read as many of the Xarc'n Warrior books as I can find. I was intrigued to find such as series and I was thoroughly surprised at how the story was written. I didn't get absurd aliens, I got well thought out aliens, a great background story and it is totally believable. I've recommended the series to my friends and even though they aren't into science fiction, they read as many as they could get their hands on and have now made alien or science fiction space romances part of their reading lot. You get enough background story to know why they are where they are, and apart from not being human, they are human like. If you've never read a series involving non humans, give this one a go, you'll be quickly absorbed into their world and won't want it to end. Each story has the same spine, but twirls outward from there, making each story individual. The physical interaction scenes are well thought out, well written and a lot of my friends want their own warrior. Not a leave them at the bedroom door romance, but not a romance based around just the physical interaction. If the individual stories don't drag you in, the warriors and their firey Human females will. A realistic future. A great portal to start your introduction to science fiction in general and a wonderful place for a very different romance. Highly recommended. Definitely a series that will be forever in my collection.
