- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2025It will leave you aching for more as it is shorter. It does have nice progression. This still packs a punch. Reading Ache made me fall for Cupid's character. I still think there's room for development but it doesn't take away from the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2024Vice, Ache, and Late are the first three novellas in Sloane's new Valentine series. All three feature Cupid Valentine (yes that is his real name and you'd better not laugh because he is the head of the Irish mafia and will punish your insolence) and FBI Agent Treasa Murphy. I recommend starting with Vice as the story progresses from there.
Cupid and Treasa fully committed to the ruse with the intent of taking down the Russian's human trafficking ring. In order to be convincing, they need to practice - like a dress rehearsal for the actual performance. Mistakes will get them both killed.
"My mind is my biggest obstacle. I just don't know if I can do it. How can I blindly obey him? It goes against my very being."
"I'm going to have to put us through our paces physically and emotionally if we are going to be successful in our mission and stay alive in the process."
Ache takes readers through their training. We bear witness to their emotional, physical, and psychological struggles. They need to immerse themselves in the master/slave dynamic, but it can be hard to cross certain lines... sometimes because they are unexpectedly enjoyable.
This is another spicy, quick read. Please be sure to check the trigger warnings before delving in as your mental health is too important.
The story doesn't end with Ache. Readers will want to immediately jump into Last to see how the story ends.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2024This is a continuation of cupid and Teresa. I absolutely love that even though cupid is morally Gray he's still has morals. And I love that Teresa is not a pushover. I can't wait to read the next installments

- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2024This story is kind of crazy, in less than a hundred pages so much seems to happen. At first, the events may seem kind of wishy-washy, but were actually seeing the characters come to certain conclusions and mindsets in their real time. So they go from one thought, reflect, and realize that the whole situation is something else entirely.
Treasa might have an initial thought that Cupid is being cruel, but then she'll realize why he's acting that way and recalibrate. They're learning together and adapting to a difficult aspect of their relationship. Despite it being such a short piece of the story, it moves well and keeps it moving.
Overall I'm really enjoying this series!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2024This portion of the book was even shorter than the last and seems to only contain the humiliation portions of this story which if combined with the full picture fits in but with the way this story is being cut up is not particularly pleasant for me to read. If this was published as a complete book I would likely read it but not overly enjoyable in pieces.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2024Treasa, FBI agent must figuratively and literally become Cupid's $ex $lave, to take down a human trafficking ring. Treasa and Cupid have history - and boy are they playing their parts. Their "act" has to be perfect, and they only have a month for the true test. Awesome plot, awesome characters - so far I have LOVED both books.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2024I read all 3 books in about an hour. I love cliff hangers! From the first book I immediately went into the second book. I am so happy to have come across this series. I will definitely be continuing this series when book 4 comes out.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2024Ache is book 2 in the Valentine novella series. Ache continues on where Vice ended, we are back following Treasa, an FBI agent, and Cupid, the mafia boss. I loved how the relationship is developing between Treasa and Cupid. I enjoyed reading their story and I could not for the life of me put the book down! Another great novella for the series. I can’t wait to read what happens next!

4.0 out of 5 stars A must-read follow on!
Holy spiciness, this is a short and fiery read of forbidden attachment escalating at a rapid pace. FBI Agents and Irish Mafia Bosses shouldn’t mix between the sheets and yet Treasa and Cupid can’t resist the temptation to rekindle the embers of their past… a flame that never really died out. And all this amid a mission that they absolutely must complete.
Ache is a darker dive in storyline that explores the submissive and dominant dynamic between the two MCs. Darkly delectable, emotions will flare as the risks intensify and trust is tested in this second instalment of the Valentine series. Rosie Sloane will captivate, hook and have you begging for more— of that there is no denying.
