First loves are false and fleeting.

    This one was beautiful....I was addicted from first page to the end. Raegan and Penn's story was phenomenal, these two deserved it all...my heart will never be the same. I definitely need to read book 1, but you can read this one without book 1. This was my first book by this author and i can't wait to read more of her words.

    Jumped 10 years! That was shocking to me. No spoilers here but what a heartwarming story. I absolutely adored Penn and Raegan’s story. I stumbled upon Author, Hazel Jacks, Saltaire Book and I HAD TO READ IT. I loved learning about the rest of the journey. It was a perfect ending to a very special couple.

    This is the second books from Hazel Jacks it is the ending to Saltaire. You will need to read that one first to understand this book.

    I am absolutely in love with this story of Penn and Raegan! This characters are so amazing and I honestly feel like they are real people in my own life.

    I knew going into this book that I was going to be emotional and I probably cried way more then I should have but that’s okay!

    Reagan goes back to fire island because her Uncle Rhett is finally getting married to his longtime girlfriend Finn. She has not been back since the summer of 2004 before she left for college.

    They haven’t seen each other in 10 years a lot can change in that time.. I am not going to give anything else away.. this book blew my socks off and Penn and Raegan will stay with my for a very long time. Well done Hazel Jacks!

    Penn + Rae = unconditional love.

    The letters that Rae wrote to Penn for those six years broke my heart. 😭 I was so sad and angry for her! I was prepared for everything except the truth of why Penn never wrote her back.

    This story picks up 10 years after they broke up. Rae has attempted to move on + is engaged to another man (Josh).
    Penn + Rae reunite on a flight back to NYC + just like that fate gives them another shot. It’s a whirl wind of emotions after that. (P.S. Josh was such a good guy I was so sad for him, but I mean Penn was always the one.)

    The big twist. I didn’t see coming not even a little bit. My heart sank when I realized what happened to Penn. I love love the boys of summer! Such a great group and my heart broke for Eamon. Just devastating, but I’m glad he got his happily ever after.

    I love second chance romances and I’m so glad these two got another chance to be together. From the moment they met 10 years ago I knew they were endgame. All the hardships they both encountered throughout the years without each other made it all worthwhile.

    The love they both share is the strongest of love that nothing can take destroy not tragedy, heartbreak, or ten years apart. 😭🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

    We've jumped ten years and life has really changed for both Raegan and Penn. Raegan is engaged and has spent the last ten years trying to move on from her love for Penn.

    Penn is no longer piloting the ferries and water taxis and has followed his passion to write songs.

    With Reagan's beloved uncle and aunt deciding to get married on Fire Island Raegan finds himself back on the island she'd always loved after a ten year absence. Past feelings resurface and Raegan must decide if her heart and future is with Joshua her fiancé or if the boy she fell in love with when she was just 17 is the one that holds her heart and her future.

    This was so much better written than book one and I'm glad I took the chance to read it. It's not as melodramatic as book one and the writing has matured and relaxed along with the characters. One or two threads were repetitive which were unnecessary and made me think the author just didn't think we got the point enough. The story is a slow burn but eventually we get a happily ever after.
