The Inn at Holiday Bay: Riddle in the Review Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 2,392 ratings

A heartwarming cozy mystery series about losing everything, taking a chance, and starting again.

After suffering a personal tragedy Abby Sullivan buys a huge old seaside mansion she has never even seen, packs up her life in San Francisco, and moves to Holiday Bay Maine, where she is adopted, quite against her will, by a huge Maine Coon Cat named Rufus, a drifter with her own tragic past named Georgia, and a giant dog with an inferiority complex named Ramos. What Abby thought she needed was alone time to heal. What she ended up with was, an inn she never knew she wanted, a cat she couldn't seem to convince to leave, and a new family she'd never be able to live without.

In book 22 in the series, someone is going around town vandalizing merchants who have received a negative review on the new social media site everyone is talking about. Initially it seems like a mere annoyance, but things begin to escalate, and Colt fears that the trend will lead to someone's death.

Meanwhile, Vaness Blackstone from Firehouse Books is heading out of town and leaves her spunky Aunt Lou in charge. When the bookstore becomes the most recent victim of the Holiday Bay Prankster, Lou joins Abby and Georgia in their quest to track the troublemaker down.

I love the books in this series. Always enjoyable and entertaining. Realistic characters that seem like old friends. In this outing negative reviews of local businesses are causing concern as to who could be leaving such scathing comments and also why. But when owners become the target of vandalism it quickly turns to fear. Abby and her Inn are specifically affected which as with other businesses leads to lost of revenue as well as being very costly to rectify. But its Velma's Diner that is the most devastating to the town after the tragic attack. Abby and the other merchants have been doing their own investigation while Colt is out of town, but its a chance encounter by Abby that finally leads to a huge break in the case.

This book sees new shop owners as well as visitors who may become new inhabitants. News of an engagement and maybe the renewal of a love affair. Always enjoyable and a charming read. Have already downloaded the next book in the series and very happy there are more to come. 👏👏🎉

Love this series by Kathi Daley! Can't wait till the next one! Love the characters and the story plots! When I'm reading I feel like I'm right there with Abby trying to solve the latest mystery. I highly recommend this book and all of the books in this series!!!

When Anonymous one star reviews start showing up for businesses around Holiday Bay, it's maddening to the business owners. When the one starred businesses are vandalized, it's something much worse.

This is the 22nd book in this cozy mystery series by Kathi Daley and I enjoyed visiting Holiday Bay Inn one more time. If you enjoy cozy mysteries and short books that you can read in a couple of hours, this is definitely a series for you. It is entertaining, the location is great, and the main characters are like the people in your neighborhood.

I enjoyed the story but not the bad events. Bad things happening to good people. The storyline was smooth and the mystery was figured out but being a small business owner myself this was too close to home for me.

Kind of a scary story as nd all those bugs was downright disgusting. I hope she and Zcolt end up together real soon.

I have read all of the books in this series and while this one was alright, it was not my favorite. It was a bit hard to get into and a bit slow going for me. Lots of changes going on in this story among the characters.. While change is good, the story was a bit of "a loose end" in my opinion. Uncertainty reigned for many of the characters, and the reading just felt a bit disjointed or scattered to me. I will just have to see how much the story changes in the next book to determine if I will continue to read the series or not.

I love this series and so I'm looking forward to reading the next book. Don't miss this intriguing and interesting story. It also has some romance and special moments.

I always look forward to the release dates for Kathi Daley books, The Inn at Holiday Bay is one of my favourite series.

In this book there are a rash of 1 star reviews for businesses around Holiday Bay, when the reviews become real life it gets serious. Colt, the local law enforcement officer is away visiting family so Abby, Georgia and other business owners work to find out who is responsible.

The books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

If you like this book, try one of Kathi Daley's other series, Zoe Donovan , Cottage on Gooseberry Bay, Resort at Castaway Bay, Tess and Tilly, and Rescue Alaska are all favourites of mine.
