The Red Sun Rises Series Boxset: Books 1-3 Kindle Edition
If being unable to cast spells despite being born into a nature worshiping, spell casting secret society was bad, being turned into a vampire at the age of 17 was definitely worse.
And that was just the beginning…

- Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2016I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I received an ARC of this series from the author, which includes the 3 novels and also several short stories that feature the main cast of characters. I really enjoyed this series and I am glad I got to read them all at once. The series features Eren and Corbijn as the main characters, but there is a rich cast of secondary characters who make the series that much more wonderful. This is a fantasy book, set in a world with magic and vampires. Eren is special, having a foot in both the magic and vampire worlds. The series follows Eren, Corbijn and his friends & family over 10+ years, so it was nice to get to see how the relationship developed between the two from teens to adults. There is a ton of action, some significant losses that hit close to home for the main characters, and the beautiful story of Eren & Corbijn.
I would love to read a follow-up story showing Eren & Corbijn continuing in the role they took in the last book, even if it is just another short story. It was awesome to see JJ & Jack from the Keswisk Chronicles. This is a wonderful series, highly recommended to all.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2016I received this as an Arc for an honest review. But as soon as I saw it was out I bought my own copy I've had this on my tbr list forever just never got around to clicking so when the chance popped up to read and review I was excited I jumped into this series didn't sleep couldn't put it down and it's not a short 5 book story no it's long but within 48 I was done it was that amazing. Victoria can write a book I fell into this world of magic and paranormal. Eran had his struggles but grew to be a great character coribijn was one of my favorites. But Andy I just loved him I won't put spoilers in my review but at times I had to stop because I was brought to tears or I was flat out mad but then I would be happy. So if a book can make you feel all these things it's worth the read and the purchase which I did even though I was given a arc. READ the SERIES
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2017These books have so much encompassed I them. The author takes you on a journey of self discovery, while showing how Eren and Corbijn grow. I love the paranormal theme too. There is a great balance switching between point of view.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2016I loved the story of Eran and Corbijn, Andy and Jack, and Tamesis and everyone else. The characters were fun and engaging. The plot was interesting and it kept my interest throughout.
***SPOILERS***
But, I couldn't help but feel let down at the climax of each book. For being so fearsome, and feared, Gaunt was taken down too easily, and too early; he didn't even get to survive long enough to see Eran fulfill the prophecy.
Similarly, Noah, the God of Hell, and Etianette all ended up dying far too readily without any great need for all of the supposed extra powers in play. In fact, all of them died without having to use any extra power at all.
Besides the villains being too easy, I thought that the powers were underwhelming for the hype that they got. Eran made the sun rise at night but even though he slept for three days afterward, it didn't seem like it took all that much effort. I still don't have any clear concept of what good The Four are. They supposedly have vast powers, but we never really saw any indication of them, and for being mentally linked, it didn't help them assert all when Andy was kidnapped. And if any random person could decapitate Etianette, why didn't the Order try it when they had control of her and realized that she wasn't a good choice for being chosen?
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 20175-stars for Victoria Kinnaird's Red Sun Rises Box Set.
This a great series for young adults who enjoy an over the top M/M romance that focuses on romance, magic, vampires, family and a good underlying message. The series is long and I like that. The adventure kept my interest and has interesting twists and turns. I especially liked the love Victoria has for her characters. They are not simple, two-dimensional characters following a storyline. She takes herself and her readers along with the characters as they share a number of adventures.
As there are no graphic sexual intimacy, the story is appropriate for even younger readers over the age of 12. You won't have to worry about nightmares and Victoria leaves you hoping for more!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2016My sickle cell is making me lose my mind. I wrote this review two weeks ago and thought I had posted it. Anyways I absolutely loved this series, loved the characters, I loved the action and I loved the drama. Eren I felt for although I thought he was a brat at first, by the end of the first book I loved him. Andy I fell for immediately and his death left me crying for days. I actually had to take a two day break from the story before I could finish reading it. I know I'm a big wuss. Corbijn had this something about him that made you want to take him in your arms and never let him go. Although I liked Jasper I didn't love him until after he lost Andy. This series touched on a lot of bigotry and how its place is in the past. I love how all four men stood strong and helped the very people who hated them. I want to say so much more but that would be giving away too much of the story so for now I'm just gonna say go read this series. 5 plus stars. I received this box set in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic series, full of action
A fantastic series, full of action, love, humour. I loved every page of this series. My favorite character is Corbijn, Erins (not boyfriend!).
Although the story is set in a modern world, you really get a feeling of the mystical world within the real world. Very descriptive writing. The characters are real and really do compliment each other perfectly. We have snazzy dressed vampire Corbijn, We have the cool logical Erin. leading the gang from Magic/ Vampire wars, to investigations to diplomatic missions. And all three novels are tied up nicely in a surprising way, but you will just have to buy the books to find out how. The author certainly put the characters through their paces, and there were heartaches along the way. I heard a rumor that there may be more to come from Erin and Corbijn and co. I can not imagine what they might get involved in if they do return. But I know I will be first in line to buy anymore of the series.
