Purchase options and add-ons
Naser Kazemi has never met a problem a good spending plan couldn’t fix. But working as the chief accountant for his best friend’s resort isn’t turning out to be the dream job he’d hoped for. It doesn’t help that his fashion designer sister is planning an event that just might bring Sapphire Cove crashing down all around them. When the wild party unexpectedly reunites him with Mason Worther, the gorgeous former jock who made his high school experience a living hell, things go from bad to seductive.
The former golden boy’s adult life is a mess, and he knows it’s time to reform his hard partying ways. But for Mason, cleaning up his act means cleaning up his prior misdeeds. And he plans to start with Naser, by submitting to whatever the man demands of him to make things right. The offer ignites an all-consuming passion both men have denied for years. But can they confront their painful past without losing each other in the process?

- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2024Initially I wasn’t a huge fan of Mason’s redemption or as a love interest but I’ll be dang if this writing didn’t win me over. Dramatic, romantic and filled with cliffhangers (you’ll get that joke later). 10/10
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2022when i found it out it was a bully and bullied falling in love romance i was intrigued but hesitant. i am not usually into bully romances but i read and enjoyed the first book of the series "sapphire sunset"
first thing i have to say is watch for triggers. this book address them amazingly well, but does touch on some hard topics.
the book was not what i expected, but in a great way.
mason was a bully in high school. flanked by his goons chadwick and tim, they made nasers life hell.
it's now years after high school and naser works at sapphire cove with his friend conner. mason is partying and not doing much with his life. until mason shows up at naser's sisters event at sapphire cove.
what will happen when their paths cross again? can they move forward after their past?
btw i would be doing a disservice not to say that christopher rice does an fantastic job as the narrator for the audiobook.
i was on the edge of my seat with this book and in the end i fell in love.
a great story.
thank you christopher rice for a great read/listen

- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2024I'm so happy Christopher Rice ventured into romance. His storytelling is superb, featuring intricate writing, in-depth character development, and a thorough exploration of complex topics. He approaches subjects and situations meticulously and reverently, leaving nothing to chance.
Sapphire Spring is an MM second-chance, redemption romance. Naser Kazemithe comes face-to-face with Mason Worther, who bullied him all through high school, while at an event at Sapphire Cove, the exclusive resort in Southern California where he works.
Facing the past is never easy, but Naser is not the scared kid and insecure teenager he used to be. When an opportunity for payback arises, Naser sees beyond Mason's façade and recognizes he is also a victim. Mason's story is heartbreaking, marked by an emotionally abusive father, substance abuse, low self-worth, and an utter sense of loss.
Naser, too, has complex family dynamics magnified by cultural differences, which make his story so much richer. Both have demons and fears to face. Mason doesn't rush into his recovery and bears his soul for others to see. His growth and introspection throughout the book are mesmerizing, making him feel real.
The audiobook is a real treat, made perfect by Christopher Rice's narration. It just gives Sapphire Spring an extra layer of awesomeness.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2024This book, the second in the series, was well written and thoughtful. A much better example of the authors work. The character development was well crafted. I look forward to book 3.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2022Absolutely fabulous story. C. Travis Rice has written a great group of characters that I’ve really come to care about. I don’t usually go for bully romance, but in Sapphire Spring the story begins years after the bullying took place and becomes more about redemption. The story is emotional, sweet and funny but it also shows the negative effects of bullying, stereotypes, verbal abuse and addiction. It went much deeper than what I was expecting and also had an element of suspense at the end.
Because this is essentially a romance, I did get a very satisfying HEA. It was an emotional journey to get there and was a journey I wouldn’t have wanted to miss.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2022Break out a fresh box of Kleenex before beginning this book & keep them handy.
Not only is this a spicy hot romance, there is a lot of heart tugging, emotional, family and relationship dynamics to keep the tears flowing. All the tears, happy tears, mad tears, sad tears, oh no he didn't tears. All. The. Tears!
The layers of research the author must have done to be able to portray the characters so realistically and delivering their emotional baggage so efficiently and effectively must have been extensive for them to be fleshed out so well. Speaking of characters, there is one side character that I want to know more about. From the end of chapter 15 to the end of the last chapter, Jonas piqued my curiosity. I hope he gets his own book, soon!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024For most of the book, I was really enjoying myself and thinking that this is one of the better high school bully romances I've read. Mason's history and the work it takes for him to change are more believable than many similar stories.
However, there was a plot twist at the end that I really didn't like. In my opinion, it added unnecessary drama, and dealing with the fallout took so much space that the happily ever after was rushed. I would have rather seen Mason and Naser settle into a real, stable relationship, instead of having that brushed off to the space between the last chapter and the epilogue.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2022After the fist book, I was really excited to read the second and it did not disappoint. The writing takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. Once I started, could not put the book down! I was also very happy to see Logan and Connor pop up every so often and keeping tabs on those two! I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd in the series!
