A middle-class kid from New Jersey whose family came over from Puerto Rico just so he could be born in the boogie-down Bronx. As a lifetime reader of thousands of books, from Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Dan Abnett, Jim Butcher, Robert McCammon, and Richard Kadrey. He always wanted to be able to write about what he loved, fantasy and comics.  He wants to have people feel the thrill of immersing themselves into a story and running the gamut of emotions along with the characters. This love of storytelling is the driving force behind his work and looks forward to giving the world a little bit of his unconventional storytelling style.

Covers all the bases for sci-fi lovers!
I had the pleasure of meeting Eric recently in an Asbury Park, Jersey Shore, coffee shop. I, too, am an author and love to donate my debut book (But I Digretch - Quirky Short Stories), to libraries, coffee shops, independent bookstores, etc. He and I struck up a conversation and I suggested we each read each other‘s first books and submit mutual reviews. It’s been a pleasure reading Service, Answer the Call, as I enjoy excursions into genres or content that isn’t typically my taste. I love trying to appreciate what others love you so much, i.e. fantasy/science fiction, archetypical war stories where violence and bloodshed are primary characters, and the oodles of expressions therein. Again, while this book’s style and focus isn’t my cup of tea (Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein being an aberration and my co-favorite book of all time - a gift from a previous significant other, otherwise, I never would have read it since it’s considered speculative fiction and, again, not usually my genre jam), I can completely grok that Service is an extremely well imagined and crafted tale that covers all the bases of this nature of work! Eric’s vibrant imagination and talent for translating fully imagined worlds coming to life is commendable. I also appreciate he seems to have a heart of gold, with the prospective triumph of light and goodness always at the heart of human nature, in the perennial battle (in this 3-dimensional realm of duality) of “good versus evil.” May the Shwartz be with you, my new friend, Eric! Love, Gretchen Astro

Gerald has passed away and gone to heaven. He meets his long since departed relatives and they have a picnic. Just the way one would like heaven to be. He has a few days to get used to his death and new existence when he is tasked with joining the heavenly army, to fight the darkness that tries to breakthrough. There are some very serious battles and one giant cliffhanger. I’m sorry I took so long to read this because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

From page 1, line 1, i was hooked. This book doesn't have low gear. Right when you think, "It has to slow down somewhere, "..another limb gets torn asunder l. Another skull flattened another spear skewers. I can't wait for the next 2 books

I'm going to start by saying, this isn't my usual sort of book and I was a little sceptical when I first bought it. But the cover caught me and I wanted to know more!
Without giving away any spoilers this is a rip-roaring rollercoaster of a read. Awesome action and adventure, as well as some more poignant moments which I wasn't expecting in this fantastical new world. A fantastic first book by this new author and I'm just dying to see where he'll go next. Not only is the world his oyster regarding the series, all worlds, as well as the NEXT world, is masterfully in Mr. Maldonado's scope. A very well done and I'm looking forward to see where you take me next!
