Ferreting Out the Shadowveil Amulet: Paranormal Women's Fiction (Dame of the Midnight Relics Book 6) Kindle Edition
It's one thing to battle blazes as a firefighter in the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains, but it's entirely another when the fire itself has a taste for magic and mayhem...
The day started with what I'd call an average "Save the Trees" episode—except these trees come with their own dark, twisty secrets etched into their bark. So here I am, Nylah, part-time relic hunter, full-time sarcasm wielder, knee-deep in ashes trying to figure out why magical runes are decorating my wildfire. My partner-in-crime, Kaiya, and I are no strangers to the supernatural, but let's just say it's not every day your average wildfire doubles as a rune-inscribed puzzle box.
Cue the magical link to Aeira, our resident Fae and elemental whiz, because clearly, this is above my pay grade. While she's usually good for a spell or six to clear things up, today's advice is more "watch out for dark magic" than "here’s how to extinguish enchanted fires." Super helpful, right?
As we dodge flaming branches and smoke thicker than the plot of this mystery, we’re piecing together clues that suggest something—or someone—with a flair for the dramatic and a desire for destruction is toying with us. And not in the fun, "let's play a game of magical hide and seek" kind of way.
So here's the deal: stick with me through a tale of fire, magic, and family drama as thick as the smoke surrounding Asheville. We've got runes, relics, and a possible supernatural arsonist on our hands. Just grab a frosty beverage first; it’s going to be a hot one.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025The author doesn't disappoint. Her stories ans adventures are creative and hard to put down. I like that there are 4 stories going on at once and they I teract with one another. Can wait for the next book in.the series to come out.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2025Nylah, Kaiya, and Aeira once again have to deal with an artifact problem that can destroy the world. Kaiya and Nylah are firefighters in their day job. There is a mega wild fire that Nylah and Kaiya have to deal with and they realize that there is more to the fire than meets the eye. They find an artifact during that and then they start on the hunt. Maisy and Amelie are Nylah’s daughters and budding relic hunter witches, but they are still too young to do much. Arjun is still dealing with the aftermath of becoming a werewolf and his control. I love when Nylah & Kaiya’s families get together as a family and enjoy stuff together with Aeira who lives in a cottage on Kaiya’s land. Brylan, for being a Pegasus says so much with his body language and he is hilarious. I spent much of this book freaking out. It just seems like they are getting hit by artifacts that are ridiculously powerful all the time now. Apocalyptic ones. I love all of their banter and one liners as they are hilarious and break up the total freak outs. One minute I’ll be needing my AC on and chewing my nails with worry and then I’ll continue reading and then a laugh will be pulled out of me all of a sudden. We get to meet a few new characters too. There were a few points where I got a bit nauseated from the descriptions of what was going on. I guess I just get too emotional because I love these series so much. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. I need more crossovers! lol.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2025When this series came out, the characters were my favorite group. The idea of a strong woman who got forced into an important responsibility in a magical world—it was extremely creative. I just feel this book was the same thing the last 3 or 4. The adventures aren’t unique anymore and I can’t get into them. This book in particular felt like a patterned plot, and I felt like the women are even getting tired. Do they ever get to relax for more than a week at a time? Feel bad for them…

- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2025Nylah, Kiaya and Aeria, after battling a wildfire, set out to locate pieces of an powerful amulet. As usual all heck breaks loose and supernatural beings test them along the way. As if that is not enough a powerful supernatural creature tries to take possession of it. And then..the unthinkable happens...
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2025Nylah and the gals are off on another mad dash to save the world. This time, Nylah and Kaila discover a part of a relic while firefighting. Normally, the paranormal doesn't get involved in their day jobs. This time is the exception. To stop another apocalypse, the three friends will have to find all the parts of the amulet and put it safely away. As usual, there is plenty of danger and adventure along the way. There may also be a bit of steam.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025Nylah and her team jetset across The Pond once again to claim pieces of another ancient WMD. New friends and foes are made as they trek through Greek ruins, on the earthly and otherworldly planes. When trouble gets too close to home again, it brings forth a ferocity yet unseen in Nylah to shut down the demon trying to wreak havoc on Earth. Another great adventure fueled by the prolific imagination of Ms. Trim.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2024Well this story was fun and provided some excitement!
Nylah, Kaiya and Aeira team up again to hunt for the Shadowveil Amulet. Nylah and Kaiya are not just mundane firefighters, they are also heroes of the magical world. While fighting a fire that threatens humans, Nylah stumbles on a foreboding feeling that something isn't right. With Kaiya in tow, they discover some clues that lead them to this strange amulet that can open the veil between the shadow world and ours.
Along with Aeira, the ladies take off on an adventure with the wonderful Pegasus, Brylan. Several interesting and worldly areas that require them to take on hard truths and shadowy, malevolent beings. The amulet is key and was in pieces in an attempt to keep it safe. It's up to Nylah, as the Relic Keeper, to find the pieces and get it contained in her vault.
In trying not to add spoilers, the amulet causes some concerns including putting Nylah's daughters, Maisy and Amelie, in harms way. The heroes get some assistance from Arjun, Nylah's husband, and the wonderful team from Maine, Phoebe and Aidon.
The story is fun, with hilarious conversation between the ladies and real world jokes including a reference to Monty Python. While battling, they take on the various challenges with dedication and humor. They each are a power of their own from witchy to elemental along with honed skills with weapons.
Every character has an important role and each is told in a way that makes it easy to understand and get lost in the story. Don't pass this story up!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2025When fighting a fire reveals a piece of a mysterious amulet, Nylah and crew must travel to find the rest of it before evil can get there first. As the story deepens so does the adventure and excitement. It was a fantastically entertaining read.
