Shaken (The Defiant Kings Book 2) Kindle Edition
The thing is, he’s got everyone fooled. To them, he’s the gorgeous billionaire who owns the hottest bar in the city.
To me, he’s the cocky jerk whose favorite pastime has always been torturing me.
The only thing we’ve ever agreed on is our mutual dislike for each other. But that was before I moved in next-door to him, and we shockingly agreed on something else.
There’s a fine line between love and hate.
The problem is . . . I think I crossed that line.

SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥
I have always loved the Kroydon Hills Kingstons, and this book continues that streak.
For as long as Sawyer has known Wren and for reasons unknown, she has hated him with the fire of a thousand suns. Then she ran off to go to medical school. Now she is back in town and in Sawyer's mind 24/7.
Keeping him out of Wren's mind should be easy if she didn't live next door to him. A yard and a fence are not enough to keep the tension at bay, so when they caved to have a physical-only relationship, it comes as no surprise to everyone else but them that their connection grows beyond the bedroom.
It is always great to visit Kroydon Hills, and with this read, I grow more and more in love with the Kingston clan. I love the connection among the siblings and their extended families. The group chats are a guaranteed entertainment, and who doesn't stan a family who always has each other's backs?
Sawyer and Wren's tension-filled chemistry is sizzling. Bella Matthew did a phenomenal job of ramping up the delicious burn between these two, and when the spice arrives, it left me fanning myself.
While I highly recommend reading Matthew's entire collection of Kroydon Hils, this can also be read as a standalone.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved Sawyer
Dr. Wren Davenport has returned home to Kroydon Hills after living elsewhere for many years to work as a partner at her moms OBGYN Practice. As she is settling in to the home she is renting, she is very surprised to meet her neighbor, Sawyer Kingston.
Sawyer Kingston is the owner of a very popular club named Kingdom and he is one that I’ve been very curious about. I honestly don’t know what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised with how often I swooned over this character.
Wren and Sawyer grew up together and they often found themselves at the opposite sides of an argument. Wren has a deep hate for Sawyer but it goes a lot further then friendly competition. She often beats herself up for the attraction that she feels towards him due to their past and the little hints that we are given until that twist had me captivated.
Bella’s books are ones that I often devour because of how they are written. They simply can’t put it down because you need more answers, more laughs and more spicey moments.
I honestly love how co-dependent the Kingston siblings are because it leads to hilarious texts threads that have me giggling to myself. It was so great to see more of Hudson and Maddie in this book and the easter eggs that were laid out for Jace’s book is going to have me chomping at the bit until his story comes out.
No spoilers but the ending of their story was simply perfect to me and I’ll be thinking of their story when I need to make a wish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and steamy
First book for me from this author but not the last. I really enjoyed the sweet and steamy relationship and appreciated that there weren't lots of twists and trials in their story. Sawyer is adorable and sexy whilst Wren knew where she wanted to be but not who she wanted until he came back into her life. Love the rest of the family, too. Well done, Bella!

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 ⭐️'s
This was quite different then the first Defiant Kings book. It was an 'enemies' to lovers trope but much more focused on the lovers end. This quote at the beginning sums it up for me 'Hate is easy. Love takes courage. — ALVIN SILVERSTAR'
The heroine definitely takes the 1st piece to heart, although based on misinformation. After this one, I am eager for Iced as Jasper's story seems intriguing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sawyer Kingston and Wren Davenport
I enjoyed reading this story. The Defiant Kings Book 2. This is Sawyer Kingston and Wren Davenport’s story. They have grown up together as their fathers worked together. They’ve hated each other for years, have been enemies since childhood and have spent all of their time together bickering and arguing. This made for an interesting dynamic, a mutual agreement and some very hot sexy scenes. Both great characters, Sawyer is on of the elder Kingston siblings, he’s hard working, has his own businesses but is still very much a part of the Kingston clan. Wren Davenport is the hard working Doctor, following in her mum’s footsteps and has finally been made partner in her mums practice. All her hard work has paid off but Wren has worked so hard her own life has taken a backseat. Finally back home in Kroydon Hills she slowly lets Sawyer into her life and the fireworks begin. A good story and I’m looking forward to more.
