Todd, a frog and one of Lucy's friends, investigates what happened to Lucy's gem-like buttons. They got taken when she hung her dress out to dry, only to discover they were gone! I think the most powerful words, are sorry, and I forgive you! Give your child a quick comfort level with these words. They could save them a lot of heartaches further down the road.

The book was very entertaining for myself and my little one. It kept her engaged, especially the many different animals and all the emotions. It took us through a journey that she was very happy to relate to and even made her act out the feeling throughout the book! It was a really fun read. I liked the length surprisingly. It kept us interested and it didn’t didn’t end too early like many other children’s books. We’ll be reading again!

Lucy’s dress for an Easter party has several jeweled buttons on it. While it dries outside, her animal friends take the buttons away. Frog investigates and find the animals want to complete their shape collection.
As a reader, I don’t understand why the animals all have a shape collection.
The images are not consistent in style and make the book appear amateur.
Different colors of text and multiple font sizes on each page are distracting and difficult to follow for new and learning readers (and adults with glasses like me).
Vocabulary like basking, miserable and enraged not age appropriate.
The book presents too many points and doesn’t clearly focus on shapes. I have much confusion as to objective of book - animal homes or shapes or emotions? I can underwriting for two different ages, but this shows little research by the author as to children’s literature for publishing.
As a former elementary teacher, I cannot recommend this book.

This is a nice story that teaches, shapes and colors. However the underlying message is how to treat friends and how friends forgive one another. Great book!

The story follows a frog named Todd who goes on a quest to help his friend find her mission buttons, each of which resembles a different shape. The book is great for small children whom you are wanting to teach basic shapes to. Fun to read.

My kids loved shape hunting in this book and learning colours. They also love leaning about different animals and their habitat. My middle daughter also pointed out how important it was to be able to FORGIVE. Todd the frog has become very popular in our household.
