I've had a couple managers who could've seriously used this, there is a whole chunk about how your team sees you vs how you think you're coming across and man that hit home. The self awareness stuff isn't woo woo either, it's broken down into real tools and questions that got me rethinking how i run meetings and give feedback. The part on emotional intelligence and accountability had me reworking how i check in with people less micromanaging and more actual trust.

I really liked this book. It would be a great book for employers to pass out to their team of employees and would be something they could discuss together. Leadership starts with you and integrity, resilience and how you show up every day. Those are the basic premises of this book. The author did a fabulous job with the use of fables and examples getting to the point of how to show up and lead.

I think this is a must for human resource directors. They should probably get this book for all their employees.
The chapters on emotional intelligence and emotional resilience are especially valuable since Covid. Understanding emotions will lead to quality decisions.
There is some good advice on rewarding employees who put in real effort. It seems like a lot of managers today have never been trained in the key areas of managing people, not just managing their own agenda.
Everyone can take advantage of this as a workbook to becoming a healthier, more productive person.
I have a master's degree in business management and this book pretty much sums up what I learned about human behavior... and at a fraction of the price I paid for the courses.
If nothing else, you will know that by following the principles in this book, you are validated. You can have self-confidence.

So many companies and business either fail or become stagnant because of poor leadership and this book "Show up and Lead" presents a true archetype of leadership of what we all want from our leaders within the corporate world. But this book is not just about what makes a great leader but how you can become an effective leader. The author Nancy Bonfiglio-Pavisich starts with discussing Self-awareness as a leadership quality and approaches it as: only by knowing who you are can you be a leader. I really like that, because we follow self-assured people. The sections I really appreciated the most were on accountability, and employee engagement. I liked the idea of multiple levels of accountability and the idea of trusting and praising employees. This is a well researched book with great ideas!
