Sin Bin Baby (Scorpions Hockey: Breakaways Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 83 ratings

A bad boy hockey player secretly in love with his curvy best friend can’t refuse her steamy proposition to get what she desires—a baby.

CHARISSE

After a string of failed relationships, I’m calling it quits on the traditional path my parents set out for me—first comes love, then comes marriage, and all that jazz.

Instead, I’m hellbent on making my baby dreams come true. Just gonna need help from my sweet talking, king-of-keeping-it-casual, protective childhood best friend, Dominic Davies.

I can totally handle a besties with benefits situationship with a gorgeous goalie slipping into my five hole every night and not fall in love, right? After all, we only need to keep playing this game until those two little lines pop up on a pee stick…

DOMINIC

Around the league, I’m known for three things: stopping pucks, weird rituals for luck, and giving absolutely no… well, you know.

When Charisse Soriano, the one unattainable woman I’ve loved all my life, turns up single and ready to do way more than mingle, I spot a scoring chance I can’t pass up.

The net's wide open for me to shoot my shot, and I’ll do whatever it takes to convince my curvy cutie there’s no going back to “just friends”. My dirty play may land me in the sin bin, but with my heart on the line, I'm aiming for what I want—and that’s her. Forever.

If you like a bad boy hockey hero with a soft spot for the one who got away and a sassy, singing heroine on a mission to manifest her destined baby, you’ll love SIN BIN BABY. This sweet and steamy friends-to-lovers sports romance novella is related to the Soltero Beach Scorpions Hockey series and can be read as a standalone.

Dominic and Charisse have my heart! I wished they would've gotten together earlier, but I was still so happy when they finally got together. They had been pining for each other for so long, but didn't have the courage to confess. Definitely recommend this to all hopeless romantics!

This story reminds me of that 1980s song by Carl Anderson and Gloria Loring that I heard on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” with Bo and Hope. Of course there were no interracial couples back then, so I love love this novel!

I loved this little story. I’m such a sucker for pining and Dom is just so good at it. The bisexual representation is great too.

I loved the cultural touches with Charisse’s family as well.

There were a couple things that could have put this into five star range, though, and they both have to do with the spice. First: The last spicy scene was a bit lackluster and left out much of the dynamic they had established in the main one. Second: We’re given a peek in the pair’s first scene that Dom would be more than amenable to some booty hijinks, but unfortunately that’s the only time it’s ever hinted at. I would definitely have liked to see that come into fruition later on.

Other than that, a very cute, fun little story I enjoyed way more than I thought I would, having never read this author before.

This is the 6th book in a multi-author series which can all be read as standalones.

Charisse and Dominic are childhood best friends, but Dominic has a secret. He has always liked Charisse, and when she approaches him with a proposal, he agrees with ulterior motives. To change her mind about her initial proposal (for him to just give her a baby) and keep her (and the baby) instead.

This was fun spicy short read that is a great addition to the Pucker Up series. Dominic and Charisse have been friends for a very long time and the friend zone is where they seemed destined to stay until the night of Dominic's birthday. I loved the development of the relationship. A steamy page turner that had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed.

These two had more than chemistry. They had passion and enthusiasm and love for each other. I thought it was great that Dominic supported Charisse even though his career was important to him too and he loved playing hockey. He adapted and didn’t think twice. They were always joking and bantering and they had me smiling along with them. During a few of the steamier scenes their passion was off the charts. The ending was just precious. I enjoyed reading Sin Bin.

Literally only giving it two stars because it was short enough not to be painful. Cringy as hell for no reason. Author infantilizes female character, the dirty talk is awful, it’s bad.

Sin Bin Baby by Coco Elliot is part of the multi-author Pucker Up series. This is the first time reading this new author and I will say I enjoyed the book. The story is about Charisse Soriano and Dominic "Domino" Davies, in a friends to more romance. These two were next door neighbors growing up who both wanted to go after their dreams. Hers was to become a singer and his was to play professional hockey. They have both been there for each other, but not in the way that they would both like. So when Charisse starts to reevaluate her life and what she really wants it is it is Dom that she turns to for a really big favor, one that will turn both their worlds upside down with the possibility of making their dreams come true or burning it all down.
I thought the story was pretty well mapped out and the characters were interesting and had a lot of emotion. While there were a few things that had me wondering about I just went with the story and really enjoyed it. I will be reading this author again in the future.
