The Marriage Solution Kindle Edition
My hot, fiercely protective best friend Landon just dropped to one knee in the middle of the Bellagio with the perfect solution to all my problems.
After an unexpected diagnosis and a run of bad luck, I’m officially down and out. That is, until my best friend of two decades offers me his name… and his health insurance.
We’re in Vegas for someone else’s wedding. The last thing I ever expected was a proposal of my own—especially from Landon, my rock, my closest friend even when we’re miles apart. He’s always been gorgeous, but except for that drunken almost-kiss back in college, the only thing between us is friendship.
What’s a marriage of convenience between pals? Besides, Landon lives hundreds of miles away. Nothing has to change.
Right?
Landon
I popped the question, put a ring on it, and slapped Julie’s name on my health insurance policy. Problem solved.
It’s supposed to be a marriage of convenience. However, when my job relocates me to New York and I move in with my wife I find out there’s nothing convenient about our arrangement.
It all seemed so simple until the Elvis officiant said, “kiss the bride.” The second our lips touched, nothing was ever the same.

Editorial Reviews
Review
Melanie Moreland, NYT, WSJ, and USA Today Best Selling Author ~ "Emotionally-charged, well-paced and witty, this is a great friends to forever romance book."
LJ Evans, author of the Painted Daisies series ~ "Julie and Landon's story was a gorgeously told friends-to-lovers story that had me swooning and celebrating right along with the characters. The way Landon fiercely protected and stood up for her and ensured she took care of herself, made him the perfect hero. Their love was true and sweet and so deliciously steamy. This was an utterly relatable story that made me feel seen and understood as someone dealing with a chronic illness. Julie's struggles were real, deeply personal, and yet also inspiring. Her strength and resilience were truly beautiful to see. I can't recommend this book enough."
Two Bookish Brits ~ "A fun and exciting read about two best friends and just how far they'd go to help each other."
Booked Up With Emily ~ "This book is absolute gold and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I finished it two days ago. I loved how Landon was such a caretaker and even though Julie didn't know that she needed that, he is the missing piece to her puzzle. And the dirty-talking mouth on that man will make you blush!"
Emily Silver, author of The Denver Mountain Lions series ~ "Landon and Julie took me on an emotional ride that I was not prepared for, and I fell hard for their story. I loved seeing these two friends realize deeper feelings for one another and how they supported each other through Julie's recent diagnosis. It had me laughing, tearing up and tugged at all of my heartstrings! I cannot recommend this book enough if you love friends to lovers and marriage of convenience!"
Auden Dar, contemporary romance author ~ "Stephanie Rose's "The Marriage Solution" is a standout in the vast sea of romance books. It offers a beautifully conceived and profound take on the "marriage with convenience" trope. Rarely have I felt such a strong connection with a fictional heroine as I did with Julie, who exuded strength and resilience that left me in awe."
Read Me Romance ~ "The Marriage Solution is clever and witty, yet sad and emotional at the same time. Love all the secondary characters and the reunion of their mutual friends, and how they all knew it was only a matter of time before Julie and Landon saw what they saw all along. The Marriage Solution is a low-angst, feel good romance told in dual POV that should be on your must-read summer TBR list!"
Sarahs Book Corner ~ "DO NOT sleep on Stephanie's books! She writes the best stories with the most swoon worthy men, I am obsessed. I loved reading Julie & Landon's story, as Karen said it made me giddy as f*ck! The friendship between these two was the most precious/amazing thing. I loved how protective they were of their friendship. Julie was so relatable, trying to do everything and keep it all together. Landon is an alpha cinnamon roll king. I couldn't put this one down, and highly recommend. You will be swooning right away with these two."
Talk About Romantic ~ "Julie & Landons story was so beyond what I thought I was getting when I started reading this book. I was hooked and devoured it word for word really rather quickly. I simply could not put it down."
Sam Speed Reads ~ "Recommended for all romance readers and especially those that love: marriage of convenience; Vegas weddings; best friends to lovers; chronic illness rep (lupus); when he takes care of her; "my wife"; no 3rd act break up"
My Own Bookshelves ~ "If you are looking for an entertaining, heartfelt standalone to indulge a few hours of ignoring your family and life, look no further than this book! First marriage of convenience for reasons? Count me in. Add in everyone can see it but them and I am going to bump this up my TBR. From the blurb you get the premise. While life is never all roses, this story will leave you with joy and smiles for miles. It is one of those stories you'll pick up to read again and again."
Romance Reviewed ~ "It's a sweet and heartfelt story (with some spice of course). The two have to readjust their lives once they realize their feelings have shifted, and I really enjoyed watching how it all played out. It's own-voices chronic illness rep and I appreciated the insight into what that is like. There's a great supporting cast, good steam, and I love when the hero falls first."
Jeannine Colette, contemporary romance author ~ "The Marriage Solution is everything I love in a friends-to-loversA friends-to-lovers romance with a marriage of convenience, the swooniest of heroes, a heroine with a purpose, wit, angst and a whole lot of sexiness--that's what you get in The Marriage Solution! Stephanie Rose has a talent for taking real like drama and weaving it into her romances with heart and passion. A perfect read for the summer!!! romance!"
Tweet Preet Books ~ "THE PINING! The not wanting to cross the line when the chemistry is there! My heart felt for Julie and her struggle with her illness. The struggle was represented well from the first page to the very last and I loved how much Landon immediately wanted to take care of her."
The Book Chamber ~ "I loved the banter between Landon and Julie. I was swooning and laughing the whole time while reading about their relationship and how important they are to one another. Their friendship is so strong and has lasted through the years, which is easily done because of how caring and selfless each of the characters are! Overall, this was a very cute read and I loved it!"
Gemma Smith, contemporary romance author ~ "I absolutely adored this marriage of convenience story. Jules and Landon were perfect for each other. One of my favorite parts of a marriage of convenience is watching the main characters slowly fall in love and the tension that mounts between them. Stephanie knocked this out of the park. Reading Landon and Julie's inner thoughts as they realize what's been right in front of them was just *chefs kiss.* And when the tension finally breaks, holy guacamole is it HOT!!!"
What Daphne Reads ~ "This is a forced proximity, friends to lovers, marriage of convenience book. Stephanie did a great job at building and explaining the story of Julie and Landon. The build up and tension in some of these scenes had me on my toes!!!!"
JL Readsss ~ "This was such a good "Marriage of Convenience" book! Landon was such a lovable character, he never wavered in his protectiveness and love for Julie. Julie was so easy to root for. She needed someone in her corner, and Landon stepped up. It was just so sweet seeing them work through their feelings that they were blind to for so long."
Romance Book Obsessed ~ "I enjoyed the relationship between these two, because they're almost 40 and it was so mature. I always love marriage of convenience and it was a slow burn, but once they admit their feelings to each other, the spice is great!
Jessi Peters Bookshelf ~ "Not only is this an amazing story about love, it's also about perseverance and figuring out how to live a life that wasn't part of the plan. Autoimmune diseases or any form of chronic pain can change your entire life. I really connected with that part of the story and I know others will too. Stephanie writes in a way that makes you feel every little thing like it's your own. It's truly beautiful."
Bella Bibliophile Bello ~ "This book was everything I was looking for when it dropped in my inbox. It was fluffy, it was spicy, it made me laugh it had ZERO third act breakup... I mean... what else could a girl ask for?"

About the author

Stephanie Rose is an Amazon top 60 author. She's also a lifelong New Yorker, a wife, a mother, and a lover of all things chocolate. Her sweet spot is writing the nice guy who goes alpha for the woman he loves. In fact, the alpha cinnamon roll hero is her specialty.
She married her prom date and her biggest fan is her teenage son who tries to offer book ideas in exchange for video games and LEGO.
She spends her free time avoiding discarded LEGO and obsessing over what book to read or listen to next (audiobooks are her favorite!). Weight lifting is her happy place but she loves a good iced coffee or glass of wine and has never met a cookie that she didn’t like.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2023Raw, and honest, and beautiful, and steamy, and heartfelt, and swoonworthy, and simply wonderful. Yes, it can be difficult to dive into a book when there are serious and heavy topics in play. But when the book is written with so much heart, by an author who knows the playing field, and brings the storyline to the characters with engaging honesty, it’s a book that’s 1000% worth immersing yourself in. The Marriage Solution by Stephanie Rose is one of those books.
Rose does an exceptional job of creating two characters who fit each other so perfectly, it’s hard to ever imagine them as anything but a team, a couple, a perfect HEA. Best friends to lovers is often an angst-filled trope, but the progression of Julie and Landon’s relationship is so fluid and engaging, readers are able to really fall into their story and appreciate their journey to their inevitable and wonderful HEA without peeking through their fingers to make sure it’s all going to be okay. Add in a credible and original situation surrounding the marriage of convenience trope, one many readers can relate to, and their story takes on another level of authenticity and urgency.
The true beauty of this story is in the strength in the characters’ relationship together and the goal they each have in beating the stigma Julie carries of being "unlovable" because she has a chronic illness. Julie exhibits a beautiful sense of vulnerability as she learns to blend her need for independence with the understanding she can rely on Landon to be an amazing support system. And Landon is the quintessential cinnamon roll hero, wanting to solve all the problems and ultimately learning he can protect Julie’s fierce need for independence while also being the support system she truly needs. The conviction to be exactly what the other needs woven throughout the novel, and the growth both Julie and Landon go through to find their reliance and connection, is encouraging and heartwarming, and brings a genuine intensity to the characters and the storyline.
Outside of the intense emotional connection Julie and Landon have, their physical connection is sensual and electric and sizzles on every page. There is no way to remove the pull they have toward each other, and no reason to even try. And it all combines to create a story readers can sink their hearts and souls into. The Marriage Solution is a standalone novel and the perfect book to immerse yourself into with hot tea, a cuddly blanket, and tissues.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2023The friends-to-lovers trope is one of my personal favorites when it comes to the romance genre, and Stephanie Rose serves that up with a twist in her newest standalone. The Marriage Solution introduces readers to Julianne Robison and Landon Clark, best friends since they were in college, a friendship that has seen them through the ups and downs of life for nearly two decades. Nearly forty, Julie and Landon are each other’s person, much to the consternation of their previous significant others, and they would do anything and everything for each other. But when Landon finds out that Julie’s been keeping her diagnosis a secret from him, his proposal of marriage in order to get her on his health insurance feels above and beyond. However, this seems like a good solution, one between the best of friends. So why is it that things appear to be shifting, because now, these newlyweds are seeing each other in a whole new not-so-platonic light?
There was a lot to love about this book. I adored the friendship between Julie and Landon, as I did a number of other relationships they had with other people in the story, i.e. Julie with her neighbors, Landon with his father, Julie and Landon with Dean and Maria, etc. These main characters were genuinely good people, each of whom had tight bonds and strong support systems. There wasn’t a whole lot of drama, just the realities of living with an autoimmune disease. I appreciated the author not sugarcoating what life with lupus is like, both for the person diagnosed with it and their life partner. It was clear that the love Julie and Landon was deep, and any romantic feelings seemed to simply be waiting in the wings, hoping to be acknowledged sooner or later. The Marriage Solution was an inspiring and touching read, punctuated with moments of levity and angst while reveling in the power of true love and friendship. I’m giving this 4.5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Julie and Landon
Marry your super hot best friend so you can use his insurance? Sure why not! Only when you kiss to seal the deal you realize that you’ve been in love with him since you met. And he just might be in love with you too.
Julie and Landon are so sweet. They show each other so much love and support. Being best friends first really makes their connection amazing.
Julie is smart, talented, strong and kind. She has so much bravery dealing with her illness.
Landon is hardworking, driven, smart, sexy and sweet. The way he loves and takes care of Julie is heartwarming.
Full of laughter, love, hope, joy, heat and topped with an HEA.

4.0 out of 5 stars Friends to Lovers
Julie and Landon have been best friends since college and when he discovers that Julie has Lupus and has no medical insurance, Landon offers to marry her. This was a heartfelt story and Landon is the perfect romantic hero.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best friends to marriage of convenience to lovers
All my favourite tropes rolled into one amazing later in life steamy romance.
Best friends to lovers
Marriage of convenience
Vegas wedding
With a few extra turns for good measure, like a life term illness.
These two, seriously talk about star crossed lovers. A friendship that spanned 20 years but it never twigged on them that they were each others person, no other would do.
I could sympathise with Julie, living with a life changing illness is hard. The daily fight to just keep going, to put on that brave face for everyone so you don’t have to answer questions, having to give up who you were, for this new you. Learning to live within your limitations and not losing hope that someone will still love you no matter what. It’s a huge leap. And the author covered it all in such a wonderful and heartwarming way. And knowing the author suffers from Lupus and in way barred a part of her soul in this book just for us is uplifting.
Loved their love story so much and just so steamy.

3.0 out of 5 stars this was cute
I found myself skipping through a lot of the fluff plot as I found it more than a filler than a good story,
With that being said, it is a cute romance about best friends finally admitting they feel something more
Even if it was forced by the thought of losing the FMC to an illness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sugar plum
Very sweet sweet story. The story is great, even it took me a bit of getting into it, flows nicely, may be just not something I usually read. Very predictable but also catchy in a way of refusal of what actually in front of you. Sometimes you just have to open your eyes and take it
