- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2016Great start to a new series from author Terry Mixon which I found hard to put down. Storm Divers is set against the back-drop of the future adventure sport known as storm diving where purpose-built ships are able to withstand the enormous pressures of Jupiter and dive into the planet's stroms, their pilots seeking to go ever further down into the gas giant's atmosphere. Storm Diving is not a sport for the faint hearted and pilots put their lives on the line each time they go down into Jupiter's storms. Of course this is not just about storm diving - there is much more to the story itself and it has plenty of twists that will hook readers into the story. Overall, Storm Divers delivers plenty of action, a little bit of intrigue, dodgy corporations, great characters and a little bit of mystery - in other words everything I like in a good sci-fi adventure. Really looking forward to the next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2021Storm Divers is a very good price of speculative fiction and has the promise of kicking off what I hope to see as a series and isn't just abandoned. No spoilers from me, but it is extremely unsatisfying to have this be the end of the road Foe Hale and the others.
Plenty of action, well crafted characters and enough of a foundation to build upon make.Storm Divers both wonderful and frustrating as you REALLY want more.when you get to the end but I haven't seen any indications that Terry Mixon has plans to.follow up soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2020Terry has some fantastic ideas for stories and he has his priorities well lined up. His Empire of Bones saga is his cash cat now so all his other sagas are sadly sitting on the back burner for now.
This is a really good first book and it will definitely make you want more. As usual for his stories it keeps you on the edge off your seat and wondering what the next move will be. He had me guessing right up till the end. He left with the perfect segway into the next book and has left me hanging :-) That's okay because it will be worth the wait.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2018I've been binge reading Terry Mixon since I came across the Empire of Bones series about a month ago. His work is fairly fast paced, and the characters are interesting enough that you invest in them somewhat. They aren't the deepest characters in the literary world and tend to be somewhat predictable, but they are likable enough to keep you going. The tech is just enough to keep a hardcore sci-fi fan interested but not enough to overwhelm a casual reader with jargon. With all the self published junk out there now, its just nice to find something readable with an interesting story that flows along and doesn't have an editing mistake or two on every page.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2021Terry has scored another hit. The plot is strong and fast paced and the characters are believable and likeable. It was a real page Turner and know I have to eat for the next book. I'm on the hook for three of his series and it is frustrating. What a great writer.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2017This was really well done. The story held my interest throughout and I only skipped maybe a few pages so as to get back to the good stuff. And there is plenty of good stuff. I suspected the big Jovian secret but before reveal but not much before. This has some interesting protagonists and it will be interesting to see where Rachel and Adam end up. I'm sure the brother isn't out of the picture yet either. Nice set up for book 2.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2020I have said this before, but TERRY MIXON is absolutely a amazing author. It is still amazing to me that one individual can formulate and then express the story in written words. Every book/series by Mr Mixon I have read is a outstanding Sci-Fi read. I sincerely hope he doesn’t get tired or run out of story’s to write about. 🚀🚀Thank You Sir🚀🚀
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2017This book was so-so, I find it hard to equate communication devices with removal SIM cards and batteries and janitors changing light bulbs in orbit around Jupiter at a location that produced FTL drives.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gripping story
What starts as a search for a missing person ends up as a classic power grab with action which is not far from future reality

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book!
Another great series started. Looking forward to getting the next book when it is finished! I'm impressed that this is the third series with solid storylines that don't just feel like repeating loops of the same stories.
Definitely a good read with twists and turns a plenty
