    This is an extremely short story that was over before I had a chance to really get involved with the characters. I had to pause the audio to answer a phone call, when I restarted the audio, the book only had about a minute left. I was just getting into the story and it was done. The plot has Kim Tran living in witness protection after she discovered evidence against her dom’s brother, but her dom wants her back and he is not taking no for an answer. There is some hot chemistry between Joss and Kim as he goes against his family to protect her. Really fast pacing. I would have preferred that this story was a little longer. The ending was good, but so abrupt. I must say for such a short story, the character development was pretty decent. The review of this story is based on the audio book. I loved how the two narrators played off of each other bringing the male and female characters to life.

    What a fun, short read. This author is very talented at adding humour to all her writing and making the characters come to life and make them seem like your long lost friends. She also does an impressive job of making her characters multicultural in a way that seems completely natural. She seamlessly adds elements of their native culture to the story
    This story is set around the BDSM Carnivore Club. Kim Tran is in WitSec working as a monitor at a BDSM club on the other side of the country where she went to school ever since testifying against her ex-boyfriend’s father for tax fraud. However, Joss calls out of the blue telling her he wants her back and she doesn’t have to run anymore. When she refused to visit him, he flies out and kidnaps her cat to keep her from leaving.
    This story is sexy, funny, unpredictable and full of Kim’s fantasies as a submissive and Joss as her dom. I didn’t want to put this down it was so much fun. I highly recommend it.

    This was a very short read so you don’t get a ton of background on the characters. What we do know is that FMC ran away because the MMC’s mother put a hit on her. Finally, once he gets stuff figured out, he finds her again but she is in no mood to have anything to do with him. Is in fact, uproariously angry for having been lied to by the MMC about how rich he is, and about his mother putting a hit on her. At first I was a little irked at how pushy the MMC was being and wanted the FMC to haul off and punch him in the face and then leave. Then I realized she really was being way over-dramatic. Once I had that realization, a lot of the read became a little too angsty for me and I felt like this blown out of proportion reaction was just to drag the story out a little bit more.

    As far as the erotic scenes, they were exactly that: erotic. And I really did enjoy those scenes and thought they were well thought-out and written. I think I would’ve preferred to see this story be a little bit longer as I think it would’ve given more depth to the characters. But again, this is a short read so there’s only so much you can expect as far as character and story development.

    I would definitely still recommend this to those looking for a short steamy read.

    Kim Tran ran. She ran when her life was put into danger from her friends with benefits mother. And she ran when her lover tried to come back and claim her. She may be a submissive but she knows her own thoughts and she can kick ass quite easily as we found out in the previous book when she took a man down to his knees who was over twice her size because of her job as a DM (Dungeon master).

    Joss Bradlee is a lawyer, and a damn good one. So when he finally manages to find a way to get his lover back he stops at nothing. Even when it means taking his mother to task, and putting it all on the line. And betraying his brother because he will not continue to let the one women who treats him like a normal guy continue to be in danger from those that Joss should be able to trust the most.

    This was a great short BDSM romance, the character's depth surprised me due to how short the story was but it was a great read that I did not want to put down. Madame Eve strikes again with her usual perfect one night stands.

    Kim Tran is on the run from her ex-Dom and his crazy family. Just when she begins to think she is free of the craziness, her ex comes storming back in to her life. Joss Bradlee is desperate to find his favorite submissive. Unfortunately he first has to deal with his crazy family to make sure they don’t kill his sub before he can find her.

    Kim Tran was my favorite character from Submissive on Display, so I was really excited to see her get her own story. Just like in Submissive on Display, I again loved her quick wit and feisty demeanor. It took me a little while to catch back up with all the characters, and I think I would have enjoyed this one more if I had skimmed back through Submissive on Display first.

    I really enjoyed this short story. My only wish was that it was a little longer, so the author could have delved a little deeper in to Kim and Joss’ relationship. I can’t wait to read more from this series in the future.
