I wasnt expecting so much spice, and am still a little conflicted with Finn's mindset, but overall the book kept my attention..now with that ending, I'm gunna have to continue on to the next!

    This book was interesting. i could see the big reveal a mile away, but that may be because of how much i read not necessarily because the twist was bad.

    i enjoyed the characters chemistry decently enough, but didnt like the way finn was introduced to lily. i understood the need for secrecy at first, but if felt unnecessary once they were alone.

    i am tempted to continue the series, but most likely won’t.

    The potential was there for this book to be epic. But it was extremely surface level for everything in the series except the spice. Which was really disappointing. The whole series covers maybe 2 weeks if that.

    Nothing goes into detail of the plot of the kidnapping and rescue other than the spice.

    As a kidnap victim I don't believe that she falls in love with him while she's still in their clutches like it's just unbelievable. There really isn't any real story. You don't get real answers. The bad guy never even shows up in the series at all.

    It had so much potential and fell flat on its face for me

    First there is no trigger warnings, and non-con definitely happened. Also our hero? Not a hero. Like wth? First off he knows she’s not there willingly. Knows who she is and she’s family of his friend! Yes family of his FRIEND/ co-worker and instead of telling her who he is, or trying to get her out of there he forces his self on her? Let’s be honest. She has no choice and he’s ok with that?!!. This was just not at all what I was expecting. How does making s3x force trust? Keeping her terrified force trust?

    Lily’s stepfather talked her into studying in London. While there she meets and makes friends with a girl in the library. For the Easter break they decide to go to Paris. While there the girl suggests going to a club. She then gets Lily to meet her out the back where Lily is snatched and drugged. She ends up in a brothel, in Hong Kong. She is beaten and made to sleep in a cupboard with a pillow and a blanket. You feel sorry for her and try to understand why her family hasn’t rescued her.
    I’m not going to spoil the end but this is a great read.

    Renee Webb is a great author. This book is a great read.
    Lily, a university student kidnapped and taken to Hong Kong working in a brothel, Finn a business man finds Lily on a business trip and automatically recognizes her. He knows she’s being held there against her will, makes a play to rescue her. He “buys” her for night, and treats her like a princess. Refusing to return her to runners of the brothel, he shows her a night of passion. The next morning when the headman comes to collect Lily, they make a run for it. Can’t wait to read book 2.

    This is my first book by this author and definitely not the last one.
    Uncovering Lily is the first book in this trilogy, so it's not a standalone.

    After being kidnapped and taken to a whole other country whose language she doesn't know, Lily is scared (rightfully so) and have no idea what's going on.

    So when a mystery man, the first person to treat her a like a human being in so many days, decides to claim her as his own, despite her wariness and fear, their lust and connection speak louder, as much as her sense of safety with him, and she ends up saying yes to his proposals.

    Finn is shocked to realize her situation and takes it upon himself to save Lily from her nightmare. And if he can add pleasure to that, he's eager to do it so.

    Even though he's willing to do everything to protect her, I think some of his actions were truly quesitonable (I'm trying not to give any spoilers, so I won't say more about it).

    But in general, the writing was really good, the plot was captivating and Lily and Finn were so sexy. Oh, so sexy.

    I can't wait to figure out more about them and to finally understand what's happening.

    I was expecting it to be at least slightly more plausible. I have never read anything else of this author and I dont think I even want to read the second book. Btw I dont think it is mentioned anywhere that this is only the first part of a series. How they meet lets say it is possible to happen. But the sex scenes? Come on. Too forced too soon, just too much. The hero decides she is his for ever. Because he knows herand she is a virgin. Really? It is too sex focused and the story makes no sense.
