Trouble in Taco Town (The ABCs of Spellcraft Book 2) Kindle Edition
Road trip!
When Dixon and Yuri head for Taco Town, they’re hoping to track down Uncle Fonzo. What they find instead is a fiasco. Is it sabotage? A curse? Or is it just a bunch of badly worded Spellcraft?
The small Minnesota berg is a tourist destination featuring a memorable roadside attraction: The Big Taco. It’s not actually edible, but there’s a flock of birds passing through that never got the memo.
One thing’s for sure, Fonzo has been there. Not only do plenty of folks recognize his photo, but they paid him to solve certain problems…all of which are now exponentially worse. Dixon wants to chalk it up to a run of bad luck. Yuri knows a con man when he sees one, and while he doesn’t relish the thought of destroying Dixon’s hero, he wouldn’t mind knocking the guy down a few pegs.
But there’s definitely something screwy about the Spellcraft they uncover. And they’d better figure out how to repair it before the Big Taco is reduced to crumbs—and with it, the livelihood of all their new friends.
The ABCs of Spellcraft is a series filled with bad jokes and good magic, where MM Romance meets Paranormal Cozy. A perky hero, a brooding love interest, and delightfully twisty-turny stories that never end up quite where you’d expect. The books are best read in order, so be sure to start at the beginning with Quill Me Now.

About the author

Author and artist Jordan Castillo Price writes paranormal adventures colored by her time in the Midwest, from inner city Chicago, to various cities across southern Wisconsin. She’s settled in a 1910 Cape Cod near Lake Michigan with tons of character and a plethora of bizarre spiders. Any disembodied noises, she’s decided, will be blamed on the ice maker.
Jordan is best known as the author of the PsyCop series, an unfolding tale of paranormal mystery and suspense starring Victor Bayne, a gay medium who's plagued by ghostly visitations. And her quirky, sweet, magical series The ABCs of Spellcraft is sure to make you smile.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2019I was hoping that the author would continue Dixon and Yuri's story when I finished Quill Me Now back in February so when Trouble in Taco Town popped up in the "recommended for you" section on Amazon I one-clicked and read it immediately. Well, I was not disappointed or wrong in my hoping. The ABCs of Spellcraft is already a fun and delightful series that I can't wait to read further. Between Dixon's eager and unending "up-ness" and Yuri's quiet "don't-jump-in-ness", they really don't seem like they could be any more opposite if they tried but as the saying goes: opposites attract. They may not appear as they match on paper but the minute you see them together you just know that their opposite-ness not only balances each other but it helps bring out their strengths. Don't get me wrong, how Yuri doesn't throttle Dixon a dozen times a day is beyond me, I think I'm a pretty positive person but HOLY HANNAH BATMAN! Dixon's peppiness would really make me pull my hair out😉😉. So Yuri may not seem like he's a patient person but Dixon is living proof that he is and you can't help but love them for their balance.
You'll notice I haven't mentioned the plot or their quest to find Uncle Fonzo. I don't do spoilers as those of you who follow my reviews will already know but I don't think I've ever read a book(short, novella, or full length) that truly embodies the theory "you have to read to believe". What the boys find in Taco Town really needs to be experienced to appreciate the full magnitude of how important wording is to spellcrafting.
Trouble in Taco Town, the whole ABCs of Spellcraft series, is a delightful gem that may be short in quantity but it's overflowing in quality. This is a series that is best read in order and trust me you want to read this series. Humor doesn't often play a part in the paranormal genres but it is a perfect fit for Dixon and Yuri's journey.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2019Dixon and Yuri are getting along great, sex is great and Yuri can't seem to grab onto what is is about Dixon that pulls him toward the young man. But enough of that. Dixon's cousin hears from her father, Dixon's Uncle Fonzo. He is just a short distance away and he talks Yuri into helping him find his uncle. They reach Taco town and there is trouble everywhere and somehow it is attached to Uncle Fonzo. Yuri thinks he is a con man. Dixon has faith in his uncle and couldn't believe that Uncle Fonzo would be a part of the trouble in the town, butttt, the finger is pointing right at him.
This is a funny, sexy, loving, journey of two men who sees another man in different ways, and have to manage to keep their relationship intact while they contemplate the verities of Uncle Fonzo

When I first saw another Series beginning, and written by Jordan Price, I was ecstatic…..But I have waited a bit to purchase because of the shortness in these stories….Don’t get me wrong…..I can read short but with Ms Jordan 500 pages seems short sometimes. So I purchased all last week and read them together!!!
We meet Dixon and Yuri and learn their back story. Dixon is sweet, unapologetic and has a family in ‘the business’ His failure to pass his test and get his quill hurt he and his family, but he never stops wanting to Scribe … .Yuri has come from Russia and his life seems to have been very harsh. He is a Seer and can draw a Seen for a Scrivner…..Can you believe I understand all this??????
Trying to get a job in a greeting card company is how Dixon met Yuri and the Adventure began. Dixon’s uncle had disappeared, and his cousin gets a postcard from Taco Town, a small burg with the Taco being the main event there. It looks like his Uncle Fonzo has been there and Dixon enlists Yuri to accompany him there. The relationship between them is growing stronger. Dixon is loving, and passionate and Yuri is the big, bad boy quiet strength….Exact opposites. But I think the first time Yuri laid eyes Dixon he would follow him anyhere. So Ms Price always sets up a storyline that as Yuri , has the reader following her anywhere.
Taco Town could be anywhere, but the plot, the magic going awry and the almost slapstick quality makes this book a winner..we did not hook up with Fonzo but what he left will remain in my memory like an I Dream Of Jeannie skit of magic hitting the fan…..
Now it on to another town known for its healing springs….We hear Fonzo might be there and there is quite a stink. On to book #3…The Stink at The Spa
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2019This is the second in a series. I really liked how these character's met and the world building, but this installation seemed more action orientated and less about the men and their relationship. I didn't mind that and I will read the next one but I wasn't as interested in this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2019This story the Hunt is on it seems Unlce Fonzo maybe be the klutz of the scriptures or a con man either way something is not right. But Yuri feels that he is his, his nephew Dixon doesn't think so. So far the disaster that was is fix now if only they could find uncle Fonzo.

4.0 out of 5 stars Silly but fun
I'm not sure how long I'll continue reading this series. The humour's a bit daft, but the magical premise is interesting. The books are super short, and I prefer a longer read. The writing is decent, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute XD
Dixon's narrative is cute but I think I prefer a more pessimistic one from J C Price (Victor style) XDD anyways, I need guys to meet with the uncle. I'm super curious what kind of person he is. Also Yuri' s narrative is kind of cute as well XD It was funny to read about all that hand-crashing in Russia XD tough country for volshebstvo and love XD

4.0 out of 5 stars One word: fun
That was fun. Feisty Dixon and level-headed Yuri on the hunt for Dixon's uncle. The story was on the stranger side of things, but I enjoyed it a lot. This series ist just the perfect series to read, if you need something light that will conjure a smile to your face.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tacos for Tourists
Dixon and Yuri are spellcasters working together who met during an initial case and fell for each other.
Dixon is hunting for his Uncle Fozo who disappeared and on the roadtrip, they investigate broken castings.
For some reason, the town they arrive in thrives on tacos, but is losing money due to a traveller who tried to repair various items, who might be Fozo.
Yuri is the strong, quiet type with a high level of snark, whilst Dixon is sparkly and exuberant. With chapters split between them it makes for a fun dynamic in narrative, and the story is full of light humour , though the big in the snowglobe factory made me snort loudly.
Very fun series and romantic too.

Love this series, about the adventures of a slightly hapless but loveable guy and his strong silent Russian boyfriend. Can't wait for the next one!
