    Ocean is still grieving three years after his parents accident. He now shares a home with his well to do grandmother.

    Amaya moves to town and she agrees to open shop in town with a friend. Ocean and Amaya meet at a local coffee shop, and he soon realizes he knows her. He remembers she survived the accident a few days before his parents death and he was her EMT.

    Ocean is endearing. Amaya is truly looking to turn her life around. The fact that he was the EMT that saved her didn't come out the way it was repeated throughout the story. It seemed like it should've been an important part of the story.

    I enjoyed this read 📚!

    Ocean lost his parents to an accident three years ago and he now lives with his grandmother in the mansion. Amaya and her friend opened a quirky shop in town and when the two meet at a coffee shop, he realizes he knows her - she survived the accident a few days before his parents died and he was her EMT.
    The characters had a lot to their backstories. The storyline was quick but vivid in details, drama and analyzing of how they felt. They earned trust by opening up to each other. Tristan was quite interesting. The ending jumped a little too quick for me, but was still good.

    Ocean and Amaya's story is a short one filled with past misfortunes, secrets, drama, and likable characters. This is a fast paced romance between an EMT and the co-owner of a gift shop. I enjoyed the story but it seemed to rush at the end and the epilogue was about a different couple. Taking Her is part of the multi-author Cinnamon Roll Saviors series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

    This had a great start, interesting characters, the start of drama and then it was over. This had a lot of potential but it didn’t manifest. With more length and attention to the plot this would’ve been great. Instead there’s a rush to the end, an epilogue that leads to another couples story and no real resolution of the conflict.
