    Holden & Olivia, my this was an interesting book. The mini background of the book doesn’t do it justice you have to read it. Definitely a must read add to your TBR! Absolutely enjoyed the story like & plot. Definitely threw a curveball at me but man was it good 🤍🤍

    First, I'd like to thank Jasmin Miller and Chasing Books PR for the advanced copy of this book.

    Tangled in Vows is the 2nd book in this series, but was marketed to me as being readable as a standalone, which is why I went ahead and moved forward with this arc read. Unfortunately, the first 10% of the book was a pain to get through because I hadn't read the first in the series. I imagine if I had read the first novel it would've been a nice little recap of the characters and what happened previously but as a standalone, it was an info dump. It felt like I walked into a room where 2 friends were conversing and they let me hear in on their conversation, but unfortunately, I'm just a casual acquaintance and have no idea what's happening. They're dropping bombs so casually because they already know about this stuff, but I'm over here to the side like... (view spoiler)
    WHAT. IS. HAPPENING?!

    Anyway, I feel like this wouldn't have felt like a jarring issue if I had read this after #1 but this information should've been presented in a more palatable way if it was to be marketed as a stand-alone.

    After that first 10-15% I could actually get into the book well enough to enjoy the ride.

    We immediately jump right into the drama with Olivia's bodyguard being in a car accident and we soon realize she is being targeted by somebody with random acts of mischief and violence. Maybe it was my love for whodunnit's, but it seemed obvious to me who was causing all the problems. I clocked the perp and their most likely motive from their first scene, which makes me question the success of the security company Holden owns. lol I'm just here for a good time though and the imperfect characters and all their insecurities (even though they're SUPER successful at the ripe old ages of 24 and 27 🙄) gave that to me.

    Overall, It's not getting a super high rating from me which is why I waited some time to write this review, but It's good for what it is. I call this kind of book a "palette cleanser," the kind of book I'll read between my heavier books because I don't expect much from it, only entertainment. I did enjoy it enough that I'll be giving book 1 a try as well and keeping a look out for an Archer book because there is NOTHING I like more than a hot nerd.

    The action in this never stopped! There was something new coming up to be dealt with at every turn, and Holden is there with Olivia through it all. And what a surprise at the end!

    This is the second installment of Jasmin Miller's Tangled & Torn series. However, Tangled in Vows can be read as a standalone!

    Oh wow, you'll be taken for a ride with this one. Mystery, angst, twisted pasts, trauma, music careers, hidden identities and clubs. You name it - it's all wrapped up in the chaotic lives of our main characters.

    We follow Olivia, a famous songwriter/singer, who had a wonderful upbringing until a tragic event ripped her from her parents. Left with no choice but to join her Aunt's 'community' until she turned 18, her life was flipped. Arranged marriages. Abuse. Trauma. She manages to escape and a chance encounter has her meeting our MMC, Holden.

    Insert marriage of convenience (with a major twist). This man is no joke. He will fulfill the touch her and die trope. Just when she starts to really pour trust, Holden disappears from her life.

    But it's not the last she'll see of him.

    Would have been 5 stars for me, but towards the big reveal (no spoilers, here. Don't worry)...it was a bit jarring. I had to turn back and make sure I didn't skip forward or pause/pick up at a weird spot. Nope. Just the way it was written.

    Also seemed like a few, let's say, 'fan service' scenes were sprinkled in. Not yucking the yum! Just felt a bit..off?

    Still loved the book and look forward to diving into more books by this author!

    My thoughts on Tangled in Vows by Jasmin Miller. This is the second book in the Tangled & Torn series, and while you can read it as a standalone with a HEA, I’d definitely recommend starting with Tangled in Lies first. I loved that book, so I was really looking forward to this one, and it did not disappoint! The story moves fast, the plot keeps you hooked, and the slow-burn romance has just the right amount of tension. Holden and Olivia’s chemistry is great but because of the history between them, there are a lot of moments filled with angst, longing, and unanswered questions. I especially loved the action-packed moments, the friendship between Holden and Archer, the bond between Olivia and Stormy, and how they’ve all found themselves among family. And it looks like we’re getting Archer’s story next, which I can’t wait for!
