Falling in love wasn’t in the plans. The plans is to enjoy each other and have fun oh and to follow the directions. That is how this sexy passionate and smoldering story begins. Two people and a plan to not fall in love. To make things more complicated Clay brings Travis into the agreement with the stipulation of not falling in love. But with all thing meticulously arranged and organized to go a certain way. When ever you don’t factor in free will some one will always break that one rule~ falling in love. Control is what Clay craves above all control and order and as an architect he is used to drafting eventhing and planning how it will all play out. Lilith and Travis bring him the chaos of feeling making this book extremely interesting. There connection is fierce and the love is exhilarating, making for an incredible read.

    Lilith gets into a relationship with her neighbor, Clay, who's an architect, and also makes custom BDSM furniture. She learns that Clay is a Dom who goes to a sex club to scene. When Clay has to travel for work, he sends his friend, and fellow Dom, Travis, to scene with Lilith in his place while he gives instructions and watches on FaceTime.

    Clay has set up rules to keep Lilith and Travis from getting too close while he's gone, but the tension between them becomes too much and they break the rules. Their new relationship dynamic changes things for the three of them, which forces everyone in the trio to be honest about their feelings.

    I read this in 2021 and loved it. The spice is outstanding in this book. Not only is it hot (it's Nikki Sloane so you know it's going to be HOT), but it's written in a way that highlights the different levels of trust and communication needed in a BDSM relationship. I love that the plot is the different relationship dynamics at play and how they develop throughout the story.

    I love Lilith's dynamic with Clay because she is sassy, light, and a little chaotic, which compliments his brooding and quiet personality. Clay plans things out, but things rarely stay on the course he's crafted with Lilith. It throws him off at time, but I think that can be a good thing for him to experience sometimes.

    The "conflict" hurts my heart every time because you can feel the love, pain, and wanting all at once and you just want to shake them. It feels very real to what could happen in a dynamic like this in the real world, especially with a Dom like Clay that always has a plan. I'm glad that it works out and that this trio gets their spicy happily ever after.

    I think I wasn’t sure about it at first because I didn’t really like Clay. But I grew to like him. He does do a lot of growing. This story is really great. The more I read the more I came to really like it. And let me tell you….whoa on the spice! Phew! It’s super hot. Nikki really knows how to do the spice! I love it! But definitely check TW. This story has a lot of BDSM. Make sure to take care of yourself. I don’t usually like or read BDSM books but, wow, this is really hot! I love the scene in Clay’s bedroom. It’s not BDSM but it is really hot!
    But I love how these three come together and of course they have a lot to go through to get to be where they end up. It makes a whole lot of sense for them to have the issues they do. It’s being more realistic with what they go through.
    I highly recommend this book. I didn’t think I was going to like it but I really do. It’s worth the read. I really think you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!!

    This is book three in the Nashville Neighborhood. It features Lilith the BFF of Cassidy from book one. Lilith is a free spirit who loves expensive shoes. It is funny in the story because she walks in the rain with heels. Lilith has a new neighbor Clay who is a tall and handsome man, but is reserved and loves creating plans and maintaining order in his life. Clay asks Lilith to help him find the stray cat that has ran into his house. Next thing is they are co-parenting the feline cat Noir. The attraction grows between these two and Clay wants to introduce Lilith to his preferences at a BDSM club. Clay is a dominant and agin always has a plan. Lilith agrees to go with Clay. Lilith is extremely curious and says she is open to learn more about Clay and his desires. There are a lot of scenes, and Clay is the architect, of adult fun times. Mind any triggers that you might have because Clay is into pain first and then pleasure on page, the aftercare is mostly off page. I enjoyed the characters Lilith, Travis, and Clay, but did not enjoy their lack of clear communication with each other or how trust was lost unnecessarily. Read On!

    As I’ve come to expect, it was chock full of surprises. Clay, Lilith, and Travis had my blood pressure going through the roof, together with emotions held on a knife edge. (Steady!) Not like that… well, like that as well but more in a ‘I really want this to work out’ kind of way. Eek!

    Yes, I can confirm that there was ranting on my side of the proceedings aimed at certain characters which may or may not have included threatening their favourite body parts. *shrugs* It’s a given really.

    I (fervently) hope that we will have more stories in this series. I don’t think the Neighborhood is done with us yet.

    Lastly, top tip – remember to clear your internet search history if you feel the need to add visuals to certain apparatus from the basement #ifyouknowyouknow *winks*.

    The Architect has just earned itself 5 very well deserved, ELECTRIFYING stars. Also, why are we limiting ourselves to only 5 stars? Why aren't there more stars?! And why are those stars electrifying you say? I'm so glad you asked. Because once again the sexual tension literally rises up off the page to travel through your body like an electric current. He words are like a conduit, a live wire of chemistry so powerful it will become your drug of choice.

    The title "The Architect" may appear straightforward at first, but don't let that fool you. Nikki may bring the heat, but she also crafts her characters with purpose and complexity. As we explore these characters further we find that the structure and discipline of that title carries a much deeper meaning. One in which limits will be tested and rules will be broken. Because you cannot draft the rules for love.
    Once again Nikki rules with the title I gave her many years ago, "The Queen of Steam". Not only does she still wear her crown proud and unapologetically crooked on her head (because she always does things her own way), I have now upgraded her in my mind to sitting on a majestically dark throne, powerful sceptre in hand, grinning wickedly as she rules over her readers and plots her next delightfully naughty adventure.

    We'll be here waiting with baited breath, Nikki. Try not to keep us waiting too long. Pretty please? 😉
