The Catalin Connection: A Crime Thriller That Will Keep You Guessing Until the Final Page (The Catalin Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 94 ratings

One Hacker. One Crime Boss. A Conspiracy That Could Burn It All Down.

Petru Janco knows too much. He’s hacked for Romania’s most dangerous crime boss, and now he wants out. But no one walks away from Luca Razman. Not alive.

Marked for death, Petru must navigate a brutal world of killers, corrupt officials, and shifting alliances. With no allies, no money, and nowhere safe to hide, he’s forced to go on the run with one goal—expose Razman’s empire.

But each step toward freedom pulls him deeper into a conspiracy that reaches further—and cuts deeper—than he ever expected. Now, trapped between survival and justice, Petru must decide: What truth is worth dying for?

The Catalin Connection is the explosive start to Trevor Douglas’s Catalin Series—a gritty and terrifyingly real crime thriller packed with conspiracies, cold-blooded killers, and a hero pushed beyond the limits.

The reach of evil is truly worldwide. The reader will understand that as the story moves from Romania to Canada.

Petru's life has been looking over his shoulder. Once wasn't quickly enough and he's been in a wheelchair ever since. He is not one to let evil rest, particularly when it has hit so close to home. The author will pull you into his world and let you travel along as the plot of the story evolves. Many characters contribute to the story, and their parts will be revealed as each plots on the next steps forward.

A great story for those who love an action packed mystery with an evolving love story.

It is a crime thriller without any suspense. Written very well. It is readable to pass the time.

'Life's hard - and then you die.' This thriller is brutal, unforgiving in its convincing exploration of the depths of organised crime, and yet retains a message of hope. At no time did I feel I was getting a glamourised version of events. It felt all too possible. A new name to me, but one I shall return to whenever I'm searching for a gritty, uncompromising thriller. Recommended.
