3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 988 ratings

A hotshot lawyer. A threatening email. And a stalker hell bent on revenge.

Hotshot defense lawyer Amber Dennis has it all. She's a successful attorney and the proud owner of a luxurious new condo, an expensive car, and a fat bank account. Not to mention a blossoming relationship with the gorgeous David Grant.

Amber's perfect life is shattered when she starts receiving threatening emails. At first, she brushes them off. After all, she can't help but make a few enemies in her line of work.

But when the threats become more real, she can no longer ignore them. Someone out there wants to destroy her. Who could it be, and why are they targeting her?

As her world implodes, Amber decides she's not going down without a fight. She's determined to find out who is threatening her and why.

What she doesn’t realise is her stalker is a lot closer than she thinks. And convinced that Amber has wronged them terribly, they'll stop at nothing to make her pay the ultimate price.

The Couple Next Door is a nail-biting psychological thriller that packs a powerful punch.

Bingeable summer thriller!
Full disclosure I read this for a blog tour and it did NOT disappoint! The plot is very intricately woven and the characters are well written! Don't miss what I think will be one of the best thrillers of the summer!

For a paperback this book is thick and sturdy. Reading currently after being referred to it and I am loving this. Great collection to my future library.

I enjoyed this book, although I felt it went on far too long in the beginning. The main character (Amber Dennis) wasn't very likable, but none of the characters were, to be honest. I won't spoil the ending, but it was very good and I was glad that I made it through the very long book to get there.

The ending was quite abrupt. I couldn’t stand the leading lady, but I’ve got to assume that was the writer’s point. Weird how it wrapped up on the last page. Not one of his better ones.

This kept me absolutely wanting to keep reading. It never was boring. Fast paced and a true thriller. Shows how much people mess up their lives. I never knew what to expect and the ending was perfect. I recommend this book and this is a fantastic author. I ordered a new book and have read many of the other's and enjoyed them all.

I guess for me it wasn't my favorite book of his. It seemed at times boring or like you knew what would happen. I almost stopped reading it. Sort of boring to me I'm sorry to say.

This book was very slow and I predicted the twist way before it happened… waste of time! Read at your own discretion.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 18, 2023
This was an ok read wasn't happy with the ending it was a bit rubbish especially how the book had gone .
This book centres mainly around one character Amber who seems to have the perfect life until someone targets her and it all goes downhill .
Every chapter is about Amber's life and what is happening to her.
A book to be read as a stopgap while waiting for something else .

The main character was really annoying and the ending was pathetic. Was so obvious who the stalker was as soon as her computer needed fixing.
