Turning a phoenix over to the feared Blood King would get Brand Astarot one step closer to the revenge he’s waited centuries for. But when Kasia sparks a white-hot need inside him – he’ll have to make a new plan: claim her for himself and take back his birthright. The ‘Inferno Rising’ series is off to a fabulous start – one that gets the adrenaline pumping, the heart pounding and the passions soaring. The strong, sexy and bold characters are too die for… they have some uber hot chemistry and have sparks flying in every direction throughout their turbulent relationship. They both are very stubborn and are quite perfect for each other as they continuously overlook what right in front of their hearts while juggling everything that life is throwing at them which has some pretty heavy emotional turmoil flowing from the pages as well. The plot is fast paced, extremely engaging and suspenseful, guaranteeing that readers can’t put this book down as Brand takes steps to secure his path of revenge. But with enemies dogging their every step, explosive battles and the passion continuously building between them, Brand has to entertain some new, radical ideas if he wants to claim Kasia. The author has also introduced more elements to her world which promises more exciting possibilities are in store for this series while some stunning ‘OH MY’ moments and unexpected twists keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout this energetic, exhilarating and satisfying dragon shifter story.

        I think the idea of this series is good. It had so much potential… That being being said this book lacked in a LC you can fall in love with. FMC seems resolved to be a pawn even though she claims she’s not the whole time and the MMC doesn’t ever consider choosing her until the very end… you spend the whole book annoyed with them both. I would have read the second book if it were on kindle unlimited because again the premise and idea I like just to see if the other MC’s can get better BUT I certainly didn’t enjoy this one enough to pay to continue reading and I wouldn’t recommend to others… 🤷‍♀️

I immediately bought the rest of the series before I even finished this one. I hope we have some character crossovers cuz I’d love to see more of Brand and his incredible mate. Now onto Lando and Sky!

        Before I even finished the first book I bought the others. This author is wonderful and she is either good at her job or her editor is. I hardly saw any mistakes or grammatical errors. Which I love, I’m OCD about that kind of thing and if it’s really bad it just ruins the whole story line for me. Great plot, great characters, lots of adventure and good sizzle scenes that weren’t the main focus of the book. I love how the heroine is determined to make her own choices and has a good head on her shoulders but also isn’t perfect. Can’t wait to start the next one which I’m doing as soon as I post this! Thank you Abigail Owen for a great read!

        The story was good. It's not really as stand-alone as it claims to be. The main plot continues with each additional sister. Not to say that the two main characters don't get their own happy ending, so there's no cliffhanger there.

        I read Rogue King from my Kindle unlimited, and like I said, the story was good, I just personally found some of the back and forth of pride rather boring. Strong characters, well written words, and super easy plot lines, I slipped about 6 chapters and was able to follow it without confusion.

        So if you love a good but predictable story, for quick enjoyment, this story will leave you with the feels you search for.

        Wie hab ich mich auf das Buch gefreut, da ich bereits ein anderes der Autorin gelesen habe. Und ich bin begeistert von der Reihe!
        Die Idee bzw. die Entwicklung der Geschichte fand ich mega interessant und ja klar, Dragon Shifters gibt es viele. Aber in der Konstellation und mit den besonderen Mädchen hier ist die Geschichte aber doch besonders.
        Kasia und Brand sind mir gleich ans Herz gewachsen und man merkt, dass sie sich auch gegenseitig nicht kalt lassen. Aber das Gefühl von Verantwortung dem Volk gegenüber, der Familie, legt beiden dennoch ein paar Steine in den Weg.

        Ich fand es mega spannend, dass wir die beiden auf ihrem langen Weg begleiten durften, und dass es auch verschiedene POVs gibt - denn die Handlung an sich ist echt weitreichend. Wir dürfen auch bereits die "nächsten" kennen lernen und ich muss ja sagen, ich freu mich besonders auf Buch 2!

        Die Balance zwischen Abenteuer, Romantik, Liebe und Erotik hält sich sehr gut und die erotischen Szenen sind weder zuviel noch zu überladen - ich finde, die Autorin hat das perfekt gemacht!

        Ein toller Start in das nächste Dragon Shifter Epos :)

        Brand is a rogue dragon shifter tracking Kasia in order to bring her to a friend/ally, as a phoenix, Kasia's a hot commodity that could lead to some massive shifts in power and control. Focused on goals that will allow him to gain revenge Brand is unprepared for Kasia and the desire she unleashes.

        Wanted a tiny bit more heat to simmer off the pages but still good and both MCs had me engaged and interested. Only thing wish Brand took less time to realise Kasia was the most thing and that he had more potently fought for her.

        Some very good secondary characters. I'm looking forward to seeing the Red King get what he deserves, a good ass kicking from Kasia and her sisters as all he wants crumbles, then an eternity of torment/hell.

        The sneak peak of book two provided at the end of this book has me eager for its release. Looking forward to learning more about each of Kasia's three sisters
