- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2023I know I have never read this book ever before , however in the beginning the book held my interest and kept me wanting more but then somewhere around the middle of it it was like I had read this book before , either its a remake of some other work or something because I knew exactly what was happening and going to happen. Which was real weird to me.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2023Kate is one of those women who has a husband that does everything his mom tells him to. She even lives in his mom's house. So of course they won't have to pay rent. Kate even works at his mom's company. So Kate ends up with no job, no house to live in when she gets a divorced. I liked the book, it has a feel to it of how women get stuck in a marriage of being held hostage in their own home. I recommend it to anyone getting married soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2024I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book it’s not some thing I would assume would be advertised, and I probably could have researched the author a little more but some things in British lingo. I had to think about a few minutes to what they meant. All in all it was a very good book, although some details were left out about my characters that I would’ve enjoyed and I feel like a couple storylines were left hanging on an easy read that I enjoyed, and I will probably read something else from this author now

The book was definitely too long and slow to start. It did pick up. It was hard to like the characters. The twists and turns kept things interesting though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I had to read it in stages as at times the story felt too real. Beware of controlling partners! It would make a great series on TV.
- CherylReviewed in Canada on October 18, 2024
2.0 out of 5 stars a bit dull
For one thing, the overuse of the word ‘whilst’ is annoying in this story.
The story was boring right from the beginning. But I never quit reading a book once I’ve started. The ending was predictable.
This was far from a ‘gripping psychological thriller’, just my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars good read
This is a very twisty plot . Well written and readable …but ultimately…Lightweight . An easy read . Finished it in a day
