The Surgeon's Secret: An addictive and gripping psychological thriller with an amazing twist Kindle Edition
Dr Paul Campbell has it all - a prestigious career as a plastic surgeon, a beautiful home with his loving wife Lisa, and the admiration of his affluent London community. But beneath this idyllic facade, a dark and calculating mind lurks, harbouring obsessions no one can even imagine.
Lisa Campbell's perfect life shatters when a mysterious new neighbour moves in next door. Alexis Johnson seems friendly at first, but her probing questions about Lisa's husband Paul unravel a web of lies and deadly secrets.
But Alexis has her own painful reasons for pursuing the truth, haunted by demons she can never unravel. Is her distrust merely projecting past traumas, or are her gut instincts correct about the depths of Paul's depravity?
Lisa thought she knew everything about Paul. But as Alexis delves into Paul's past, Lisa is forced to confront the possibility that the man she married may not be who he claims to be. Could Paul's genteel exterior be concealing something far more depraved?
With each new revelation, Lisa's world tilts further off its axis.
As Lisa and Alexis form an uneasy alliance to uncover the truth, they find themselves trapped in an intricate game of cat and mouse. But who is the predator, and who is the prey?

About the author

I live in Essex in the UK and love spending time people watching and wandering the fields and forests of my county.
I worked in HR within the Financial Services Sector, and then retrained as Mind Coach, before becoming a full-time author in 2015.
I’ve always been fascinated by people, how the mind works, and the raw emotions that drive us to do the things we do.
I write dark, gripping, domestic thrillers about ordinary people in extraordinary situations. In fact, the very same people who live next door to you, or you say hi to every day.
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind closed doors? Well perhaps I can enlighten you through my books.
When I’m not writing, at the gym, or playing with the 4 Yorkies in our family, you’ll find me people-watching and imagining what kind of life they really lead.
I have written four psychological thrillers: The Unwelcome Guest, The Perfect Nanny, The Ex Husband, and The Surgeon’s Secret.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLisa is married to Paul, a successful surgeon and they seem to have the perfect life together. Lisa has noticed a dark side to Paul, but she has ignored it. Paul is very secretive about his growing up, his past life and he has no family. Alexis, a photographer, moves in next to them and becomes friends with Lisa. Little does Lisa know that Alexis has her own agenda and her own secrets. This is a good read but the characters are pretty much all unlikeable and I did not like the ending.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2024Format: KindleWow! There are so many twists and turns in this story. Just when you think things and people are one thing. Suddenly you find out about secrets being kept. Even up to the very end more secrets come to life. This is my favorite book of Aaron's so far. Maybe because I could relate to some of the things written about. This story will grab ahold of you and not let go. My heart is still racing with disbelief of all the betrayals and secrets. How can people be so deceiving? Great job Aaron. This is a very wonderful thrilling read. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy everyone

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a great read
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI thought it was going to be a psychological thriller but it's not. Everything is laid out from the start and there's no suspense.
