4.1 out of 5 stars 110 ratings

Rick is fighting the good fight—rebelling against the aliens who’ve invaded Earth. But when his mission goes awry, he finds himself captive to the very tentacled monster he’d planned to assassinate.

Most Supreme Specimen, as the alien insists on being called, claims he’s
caring for Rick, that the invasive probing he regularly subjects Rick to is intended to ensure his good health, both mentally and physically, but Rick isn’t buying it. The aliens are evil, especially this one, and escape is necessary.

Right after this next probing…

This story is an exciting adventure of two individuals from different cultures and different communities who share a unique experience and a unique perspective that challenges their personal lives in a way that opens them up for love and compassion for each other and their own lives. This story is a parable about kindness and compassion for one who hates another person of another culture that shows how change can help bring two people together who feel loved for themselves and anther. A great book to read and with MM S&M mixed in, shows how we gay men love in very unique ways. Although fantasy, the story is similar to mine in many ways I have had with my partner.

    4 probing stars (** Contains spoilers **)

An alien race, the Kathwacki, came to Earth out of necessity, not to invade and conquer. But humans being human, they resisted the aliens' attempts to live in harmony and share their advanced technologies.
Rick belonged to a guerrilla group whose goal was to make the Kathwacki flee from Earth or irradicate them. Attacks and assassinations were planned, with Rick being tasked with killing the aliens' ambassador, the Most Supreme Being.

However, the assassination attempt fails, resulting in Rick being captured and taken prisoner.

Prior to going before a Kathwacki court, Rick is medically "examined" by two alien "doctors". This exam entailed Rick being probed with many tentacles in all of his availabile orifacies, much to his undeniable pleasure.

After the court hearing, Rick is sentenced to "rehabilitation" with a Kathwacki. That alien turns out to be the Ambassador himself, who takes Rick to live with him in his sterile and very "white" colored home.

And so begins the rehabilitation of "Re-uk", as the Ambassador pronounces Ricks name. As it turns out, the aliens' idea of rehabilitation is carried out through caring about Rick's overall health (particularly his prostate, penis and hygiene) and attending to his every want and need.

As the months pass, Rick's attitude towards the alien race begins to alter. When Rick learns that the Kathwacki become unconscious after an orgasm, he convinces the Most Supreme Being to have sex with him so he can escape the alien city and return to humanity's territory.

The ruse works, but when Rick reunites with his rebel group, he discoverers something shocking about himself. Despite this revelation, he plans the group's next terrorist action against the Kathwacki. But he expressly forbids the harming of the Ambassador.

What follows gives humanity hope for a future with their alien invaders. And hope for a future between Rick and the Most Supreme lover he has ever known.

Written with astounding world building, dialogue understood only through a Transition device implanted into a human's ear and just a bit of snark, this story also, as one may imagine, contains plenty of heat of the tentacled sort. Much probing occurs, both willingly and forced. At the conclusion, there is a wise moral to be learned. Particularly in today's turbulent and divisive world.

I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny, but I literally cackled the entire time I was reading this.

Such a great alien story! I can never get tired of tentacle books and Rick and Gwal were worth the read!

Probed is an odd, kind-of-sweet story despite the noncon. Favorite part is the alien concept...like a very squishy octopus that can force its matter to conform to the overall shape of a human, with decentralized sensory and speech functions. Rather than a "fated mate" trope, they tend toward emotionally intimate monogamous relationships because after an orgasm, they're left incapacitated and vulnerable for 15 minutes. The human character is not too thoughtful or bright but responds well to firm boundaries and consistent caretaking like...an actual pet. Short and amusing with well-written sex scenes.

I really enjoyed this book. I could be wrong but thought I saw a bit of a send up of our current political problems here in the US and around the world which was funny to me. Rick has heard from others who refuse to give in how horrible the aliens are and then he gets captured. He finds out that maybe things aren't what he thinks and he also finds out aliens make for good times.

This is an entertaining and frequently hilarious read about a man who sets out to join those resisting the alien invasion of earth, and ends up experiencing a completely different kind of alien invasion. It's fun, with some non/dub con (I mean, the aliens don't ask if we want to be probed😉). I recommend this book for a fast, fun, erotic read. MUST LOVE TENTACLES.😎

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I couldn't handle a lot of this, but did anyone else get the feeling that the author could do a lot better than this? Like, I feel like her writing style is perfectly fine--good even--and would be well used outside of erotica? I can't tell if the smut parts are good because they made me bored.

Probed doesn't take itself too seriously which makes for a fun read. It pokes fun at anti alien humans in ways that sound awfully familiar.
Rick is sent to end one and ends up captured and then sentenced to rehabilitation. There's a bit of non con in there, a cultural difference that the aliens don't get, but largely Rick is treated like a pampered pet.
Despite it being a novella it's easy to see where Rick's mindset shifts.
    A quick paced, steamy story

Ok, so it’s good for some entertainment… but I have mixed feelings regarding Rick. You might see why depending on your own views.

I’d recommend if you like these kinds of things.
