Within every young mother there lies a ticking time bomb of indomitable strength.
When 21-year-old Pollen McRae escaped Crimson Survivor Refuge for the third time, she hoped it would be her first and last confrontation with the Trinity, the powerful trio who released the virus that destroyed her world. But now they have captured Pollen’s niece, Evie, in order to extract a portion of her DNA that could change the outcome of human existence. And they are willing to trade her . . . for Pollen and her unborn baby.
Meanwhile, the Trinity will stop at nothing to enact vengeance on the residents of Ceborec for Pollen’s escape and the theft of classified documents. Lives will be lost. Hearts will be broken. A community will be destroyed.

About the author
Daelynn Quinn grew up in southern Maryland where she spent most of her time exploring her fertile imagination among the trees of her backyard forest. She studied history in college, but dropped out to travel and see the world. After starting a family, she returned to college and earned a degree in Dietetics. Her passion for creativity never perished, however, and in 2013 she finally completed and published her first novel, Fall of Venus. She continues to work on her Fall of Venus series and has another series of young adult books in development. While she's not reading or writing, Daelynn enjoys brainstorming while mowing her lawn, cooking healthy meals her kids refuse to eat, and watching old episodes of Mr. Bean with her three boys.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2014This trilogy had me hooked right from the start. Way to keep the consistent storyline and tie it all together at the end. I have recommended this to anyone who likes to read!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2015There was a question of paternity, but the MC had an amniocentesis at the clinic where she lived, but it was never mentioned again. This would have cleared that up immediately.
The MC, who we are supposed to feel sympathy for and a connection to, had her baby 3 or so months premature and he was placed in the NICU. There were very few mentions of her visiting him at the hospital. However towards the end of the book there was a quick mention saying that she had been pumping milk for him. Which I find hard to believe as after only two weeks she joined the militia and resumed training all day, every day rarely stopping to even eat. Where did she find the time?
Between her mooning over the two men in her life and lollygagging on doing paternity test and never even discussing her baby or his condition I lost all the compassion I had for her. She came across as a very selfish person, putting her over active emotions and personal desires in front of everything and everyone else.
The ending was somewhat predictable, especially the naming of the baby boy.
