Unbound Deathlord: Corruption (Unbound Deathlord Series Book 3) Kindle Edition
Jack is pretty sure that's the way the saying goes. That's a good thing too, for the war in Ter’nodril which he’d hoped would spell the beginning of the end for the DIR, instead left him corrupted, body and soul.
The good news is that the Fallen had used the Blight that now fills his veins as a weapon in their war against the gods themselves. So he’s sure that he can find a way to use it to destroy Valia Online, once and for all.
He even knows exactly who he'll test its power against first: Manhart.
As he must answer a question he’s wanted to ask since they first met: what sound will the lich make when he’s dying?

I always loved games, but as time went on, I started to feel that gaming lacked something. There was too much grinding, weak stories, repetitive mechanics and other annoyances, like the dreaded microtransactions.
I had always loved reading, but eventually the novels I found began to feel stale, they were too cliche to keep me excited to turn the pages.
Then the stars aligned and I found GameLit; it was the perfect blend of my interests, it recaptured the way I had felt when gaming and the fantasy genre. I could follow the story of a character in a world that ran on game rules, whether it be in a parallel universe or full-immersion VR. I could vicariously enjoy all the parts of a game I’d loved, without being subjected to the interminable grind. I was drawn in by the notion of hyperrealistic worlds and NPCs controlled by advanced AIs, where magic required actual understanding to cast and actions had tangible consequences. The genre ticked all the right boxes for me, I’d found a new love.
Yet, the stories were so few, I’d read everything available and still, I wanted to read something nobody had written. So, I started writing myself.
Today, I write full time and am best known as the author of the Unbound Deathlord series.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2020This is a good series. I like the main character jack. And his accomplice alive. I'm looking forward to see how the story progresses in the next book. Both the game side and real world sides of the story are interesting. Definitely worth a read.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2020It's been over 2.5 years since book 2 came out and honestly, I'd forgotten most of the story. Thankfully, the author has a nice recap section at the start to get you up to speed. It's good enough that you could jump into book 3 and not feel like you missed much.
The story is still very slice of life but well written with all the crunchy LitRPG details I like. The main character (MC) continues to plot his revenge, this time using the blight he was infected with and any resource he can get his hands on, including other players. He might only have months before he loses his character but he plans to go out with a bang. That is, if he can survive the NPC armies looking to bind him, the vampires looking for revenge, and the player clans looking to cash in on the bounty on his head.
The game mechanics shift a little bit. Not the fundamental MMO style, but the patch made the notifications, ability, and item descriptions easier to understand. Otherwise, the MC is still trying to build the most badass character he can, exploiting every mechanic possible to get his revenge. There is an expansion in the mechanics as the MC eventually creates a clan and learns about those aspects and clan battles.
Overall, the story continues its action focused slice of life storytelling. Despite its massive page count the story flies by as the MC gets into sticky situations and has to think, plot, and fight his way out.
Score: 7.8 out of 10
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2020While the first two books were good, the intrigue was sometimes two dimensional, depending on a string of betrayals with little to no foreshadowing. In this one the author has mastered the art of misleading foreshadowing, where you are constantly intrigued by and attempting to decipher hints, only to have the twist hit you are the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2020Some serious head bending things await readers. After finishing reading this I need to go back and reread parts to understand the ending. I enjoyed the read but now I've got an Inception/Slaughter House 5 feeling and wonder what just happened.
Score: 8.8 out of 10
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2020The entire story was great and insane. I confused by some of it but in the end it all came together and finally I understood. I have so many questions now i dont know where to begin.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2020So we continue to learn more about the MC personality, life, past and the consequences of his actions from previews books, there is still a lot of action and the relationship with Sam keeps growing as well and I would have given the series another 5 stars but the ending was conflicting to me, is unexpected for sure, but I was kind of expecting something else, give it a try though, this series is still a solid addition to the LitRPG genre
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2020Unfortunately, this book did not perform on the same level as the previous two. It wasn't a bad read, and it hasn't thrown me from the series, but in my opinion it just doesn't measure up. It felt like the story was actively fighting the reader and trying to keep anyone from understanding what was actually happening. The perspective changes and progression often felt forced and were occasionally jarring. All that being said, I believe a lot of information was provided and while this book doesn't stand as strongly independently it sets up significant potential for a swing in momentum in the next installment. Ultimately I look forward to the next book and can't wait to see what our daring heroes face next!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2020Continuing the tale of Jack Thorn and his quest for revenge against Valia online and Manhart. The DIR implements a lot of changes to the game. What a ride you are in for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still looking good
One of the few series that stay interesting/ keep an interesting storyline. Combat is kept down to reasonable length (no 20 page of exchanging punches till one guy drops)

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and well written
An entertaining addition to the series, albeit one that only slightly advances the core plotline.
The ending was surprisingly nuanced, with a lot of small details throughout the book leading to the big reveal. Although I do wish this was explored a little further to give the story a more grounded, complete feeling as there are, (and I cannot stress this enough) a plethora of loose threads.
Looking forward to the next book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Errrr... wtf?
Great book... but the ending? I'm at a loss for words for how the author thought it was a good idea. I mean... is that it then? The series is over? Or do we keep reading on behalf of the TAI's? Super confused.

2.0 out of 5 stars Surprise twist ending kills off the series over the course of a few pages.
I had forgotten most of what happened in the previous two books when I started reading this. It seemed like the plot was going somewhere... and then it just ended.
As far as I can sell, this is the end of the whole series and it ends with a sudden twist ending that seemingly removes any chance of the expected resolution happening. I didn't necessarily hate that this happened but the book basically gets suddenly aborted over the course of a few pages.
I kind of feel like I shouldn't have bothered with the series as a whole now.
