The Vampire Vice (Fairytale Mates Book 10) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 510 ratings

An anemic human and a sanctimonious vampire walk into a club...

After a bad breakup, Scotty needs a change. What better way to forget his worries than a fun outing with his friend and a couple drinks? His blood disorder doesn't stop him from checking out the vampire-themed club where patrons pretend to get drained by cool, brooding vampires. It's imaginary, after all.

Except Scotty realizes too late that it's not.

To say Malachi looks down on his fellow vampires is an understatement. He finds the consumption of blood abhorrent, and the only reason he hangs around The Bat Den (ugh) is because his sister owns the place and runs it out of their home.

But can Malachi resist his greatest temptation when a certain omega walks into the club and makes his icy veins quiver?

The Vampire Vice is a sweet and fluffy 21k mpreg novella featuring a human omega, an alpha vampire, and juice boxshenanigans. It is a standalone with no cheating and an HEA.

Scotty’s friend Spencer cons him into attending a party with vampires but without Spencer. Vampire Malachi finds himself drawn to Scotty. Enjoy how they meet and discover scary truths about each other before tasting the steamy pleasures of becoming mates!!!

At least in this world. Scotty is coming off a break up and hos 'friend' Spencer sends him Alone to a night club called The Bat Den which Scotty thinks is code for role playing. He doesn't even read the waiver to get in. When he gets in trouble cause one the vampires who he thinks is fake turns aggressive he's saved by Malachi.

Malachi isn't like other vampires he uses blood substitute and won't drink animal blood either. He lives inside his house shares with his sister who runs The Bat Den out it. Its supposed to be safe for humans who at least ones that read the paper.

He rescues Scotty and realizes that everything has changed because he's the one. All happens quick besides the aggressive vamp no real drama. Its them talking and then getting to the reveal and the sex. It was great for sure. Just wish we had the baby being born but no such luck sadly. According to the Amazon page this is last one too.

Loved the series book one always be my favorite though. This was cute and sweet as all the others in series.

As always, Hawke Okley has delivered a low angst, super sweet tale in The Vampire Vice. Scotty is our innocent, well, naive human who has no idea vampires are real, and Malachi is a vampire who just doesn't do the whole "blood" thing. Interesting, huh? Let me answer that with a resounding YES! If you're looking for a quick read that will leave you delighted and smiling, grab The Vampire Vice today!

Still okay for what it was though I noticed a lot more of the stories are ending before the babies are born.

A short story of a vampire, Malachi and a human, Scotty. The men meet at a party Malachi's sister throws so other vampires and humans can interact safely. Meeting, the two men are attracted to each other. Scotty's life is a little complicated because of a blood disorder and Malachi needs a shove towards Scotty by his sister Mallory. Mpreg and delightful MCs. Worth the read.

Cute little read. I liked the idea of a vampire who is repulsed by the idea of drinking blood and his fated mate is anemic. It made that part of the story pretty clever. I have read all these Fairytale Mates novellas and I think this one might hold the record for the shortest passage of time before someone says 'I love you'. I like these novellas and they are really good at getting me out of reading slumps.

This was a cute little novella! It had all the things I like: omegaverse, mpreg, fated mates, instalove.

It’s the perfect potato chip book. Short and sweet, not super in-depth characters but that’s not the point of it. I also really liked Oakley’s writing which makes me excited, because they’ve got a large catalogue! I definitely plan to read more.

Malachi was a properly edgy(TM) vampire but he was quite sweet, and Scotty was adorable.

The couple's unique issues made it really interesting to see how they could possibly be resolved! The trust they showed in each other made this a really sweet with a little heat romance that I will definitely be reading again!

A really quick Instalove story. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Just a super quick easy read about an anemic human and his non blood drinking vampire mate.

    3.5 ⭐️

Scotty is a nervous character with chronic anaemia and anxiety. Who is recovering from a break up that did a number on his self esteem. Not impressed with Spencer his friend.
Malachi is a bit stuffy and Arrogant. But hoping for his fated mate and love. The characters meet at a vampire club. This is a fun Uber fast instalove quick read.

1.0 out of 5 stars wow, there is fluff and there is FLUFF
Reviewed in Canada on February 17, 2023
This was the latter and not in a good way. I’ve read quick read love stories who have fluff, an actual plot of some kind and still the books end at 100 pages. This book had no direction and no nothing actually.

Finding out vampires exist and your first instinct, though others constantly tell you you are too naive, and just to prove to others that you can be brave, you instantly believe in the notion of fated mates and ask to be impregnated within 30 minutes of meeting???!! Hahaha!!

Short fictional story or not if claiming an actual known disorder, keep close to real, or make up a fictional disorder. I had anemia and yet was able to teach many fitness classes. This man takes a taxi from home, walks into a club and instantly starts falling because of his “stupid blood”. Hilarious!! Smh
