    This is the 4th book in the Boston Mafia Dons series by Bianca Cole and this follows Niall Fitzpatrick, second in command to Malachy McCarthy and the McCarthy Clan, and Malachy’s sister Alicia. This is the first story in the series that we really get to see take place concurrently with another story, as this follows the same timeline we see in Malachy and Scarlett’s story.

    Niall and Alicia have been dancing around each other for quite some time, both feeling guilty about secretly liking each other (and I get it- they all essentially save each other from the streets as kids so there is a familial bond there that would suck if it were broken). All of this comes to a head the night that Malachy is at the auction purchasing Scarlett- left alone with a movie, pizza and a few beers feelings begin to topple over and thus starts the downward spiral to discovering the true nature of their feelings for one another.

    I found myself really liking the dual timeline in this story as well as the added element of suspense that comes with sneaking around behind someone’s back -you get to see this in Ruthless Daddy between Fabio and Gia but I feel as thought it is much more tangible in this story as they are under the same roof as Malachy whereas Aida is across an ocean and far away from the developing relationship between her best friend and her father. I also never get tired of the dark, romantic themes and the danger that these women come into when it comes to their mafia men. I also really liked how the conflict between Milo and Malachy is still present in this story and we still get to see some of the consequences of that conflict when Alicia ends up in the crossfire as well as the surprise twist with the appearance of Aida (which all comes to a head in the final book of this series of mafia stories)

    This book was a little bit of a slow start for me. I enjoyed the characters, and the storyline is one that I absolutely loved. But it wasn’t really until about halfway through that I really became entrenched in the story. The mafia princess is steadfast in her love, but also a little afraid for the leading man when it comes to her crazy, overprotective older brother finding out. Emotions are high and danger abounds, but in the end they get the HEA she always dreamed of. This book was well worth reading through to the very end.

It starts with hot, forbidden sex, it continues with hiding and their fear of rejection so they keep pushing opening up to each other forever and therefore to Malachi until so many people around know about their relationship that they have to come clean or the betrayal will be unforgivable, unless it already is?!
