About the author

I write heartwarming romances about finding love later in life—when you know who you are but are still young enough to start anew. My characters, typically in their 40s and 50s, navigate the challenges and unexpected joys of life’s second act. They enjoy too much coffee, tend to overthink things, and sometimes need a gentle nudge from fate (or a meddling small town) to recognize love when it appears. Each story is crafted with busy readers in mind, making them perfect for those precious moments you carve out of your day. While you won’t find steamy scenes in my books, you will discover deep emotional connections, warm humor, and a love that reinforces the belief in second chances.
When I'm not writing, you can find me walking in nature, baking traditional Austrian Christmas cookies (yes, the recipes in my holiday books are family treasures!), or chatting with readers about life, love, and the magic of new beginnings.
Welcome to my world of second-chance romance—where it's never too late for love.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2024Whata wonderful little story. Great characters. Was over way too soon. I'm glad there are more books in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2023This is book one of this series, told in third person POV. I prefer the first person POV, since I feel like I connect with the characters more and feel like it’s actually me in the story aside from just hearing about a couple, but it was still really good. This is a quick read that is a second chance romance with a HEA.
I love that Elizabeth and John had a brief past. They spent years apart living their own lives with one getting married and one never getting married. Years later, fate stepped in to give these two a second chance. I love that the demons of the past hurt from the previous marriage could have ruined this second chance, but the determination of the other outweighed those demons.
I can’t wait for the next one. It was a fast read, I feel like it could have had a little more detail on their pasts and how they spent their time in the present aside from just mentioning a few dates, but it was still enjoyable.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2023Elisabeth is visiting her friend Patricia in Cape Town on holiday. On the same evening that Patricia suggests applying for a Retirement Visa for a permanent stay in Cape Town, Elisabeth receives an exciting job offer during a phone call from John. Elisabeth can’t work as a tourist, but John could hire her as an independent consultant. In the past year, Elisabeth divorced and lost her job, so is there anything to return to in Austria? Decisions, decisions, decisions.
A novelette with a romance told from the POVs of Elisabeth and John with an Epilogue from John’s aunt, Aurora. The setting of Patricia’s home and the Burger estate, the friendship between Elisabeth and Patricia, and the welcome of the Burger family were lovely to imagine from the descriptive writing.
I discovered the story via Kindle Unlimited and was drawn in by the title. I was curious to read about a wine estate in Cape Town, having previously read novels about vineyards in California, France, and Italy. After finishing the story, I discovered that Amazon has a category of “90-Minute Romance Short Reads.” It is an enchanting story for that category. It’s also indicative of a good storyteller when the reader wishes the story had been longer, as I would’ve loved more character development.
As John is one of 5 brothers working together on the Burger Wine Estate, I suspect at least 5 stories will be in this series featuring more of the offerings on the estate.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2023This was a short sweet love story of 2 people who gets a second chance at a love that never died. They have been through things but their love still stand true. The storyline and Characters were great together. I would recommend for all to read
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2023This was a perfectly lovely story of two people who finally found their way back to each other after letting their ‘worlds’ lead them away from each other earlier in their lives. While not an unimaginable situation, Nina Potter manages to make theirs new and hopeful. Short and sweet, read this story for a spot of hope in your world, even if the situation doesn’t fit your life. While it's much shorter than books I normally read, Nina Potter manages to also infuse it with ‘big story’ feel. I liked it! I received an advance reader copy and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2023I really enjoyed this story but wish the author had fleshed it out more. The story line is great but wished we had more of the backstory of Elizabeth and John. Also would like to have more of the story on the vineyard and how they improved it. Also more on the developing relationship between Elizabeth and John. Fo just 45 pages it did pack a punch.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2023I enjoyed this coming together of John and Elisabeth. A lovely second chance to finally come together. She was on vacation in Cape Town South Africa. John hired her for her ability to promote and think of ways to benefit the Winery bottom line. He finally told her of the love he felt for her. So we did enjoy the beginning of their wedding creating their happy ever after.
I highly recommend your reading this marvelous happy tale.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2023The Vintage of Love is the first book in the Burger Wine Estate series by Nina Porter. This series takes place at a vineyard in South Africa. This first book follows Elisabeth and John. They had a budding romance a few years earlier before John suddenly called it off and was with someone else. Elisabeth married and had children before she suddenly loses her job and her husband divorces her to be with his mistress. Elisabeth goes to South Africa to visit with her friend and reconnects with John. Can they rekindle their romance from many years ago?
This book/novella/whatever you want to call it because it was only 47 pages long left a lot to be desired. The plot of the story was really good, but the author crammed the whole story into just a few pages, which leaves the reader very unsatisfied. We don't get to see their lives before or even during their rekindling and just seemed very unbelievable because of the quickness of the story. This could have been really good based on the premise but it just needed a lot more details.
