Wartorn Stars (Peacekeepers of Sol Book 7) Kindle Edition
A tide of silence and death sweeps the stars.
A single fleet, far from home, stands for freedom.
Under threat by a strange enemy, the alien Londu have called on old debts, leading Rear Admiral Henry Wong to bring his new Expeditionary Fleet hundreds of light-years from home to aid them.
A hard-fought victory gives his partner, Ambassador Sylvia Todorovich, time to negotiate a new alliance with their old friends. The same victory should give him answers about the strange Enigma alien attacking the Londu—but all they find are lies and more questions.
The questions give them one possible source of answers: another old ally, wrapped in mysteries of their own. An old ally no one has heard from since the Enigmas started attacking…

- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2024This series reads wonderfully of battles great and small. Interwoven with personal and interspecies relationships. Follow along as Admiral Wong leads the way for the United Planets Space Force.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2024Stewart keeps me reading because of the brilliance of his space battles. Not since David Gerrold have I been as engaged at the tactical and strategic level of the tides of war. The interpersonal relations between the main and support characters is also very good. Only quibble I have is, golly, these spacers are lucky, there’s much less carnage amongst our hero’s than I’d expect in real battles. But super fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2024I like this book. I will definitely read and buy the next book in the series. I definitely would recommend this book
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2024Seems to be the exception but this series seems to be getting new life and getting better then the originals. The characters still there, solid plot. Disappointed I have to wait until Nov.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2024The drama is intense but author GS sustained it with great skill. Then the surprises get pitched in and it's a treasured read. I immediately bought the next release and only wish he could write faster. But then it might not be as great as this.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2024Sylvia and Henry fight their way to the Londu home world where they face diplomatic trials and successes. Having won their alliance, they are sent to discover what has happened with the Londu’s old allies, the Terzan. Every answer they uncover poses a dozen more questions, questions that might be answered in the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2024This was an excellent book. The plot picks up from the 6th and expands on the mysteries that are found in the war the humans are drawn into.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great story flung out over multiple star systems, species and books.
This instalment of Peacekeepers of SOL was the book for which I’d been hoping. This book contained a lot more personal interplay, machinations, and plotting than actual counting of megatons of starships.
Those things are important if you’re the admiral, I suppose, but as a fascinated bystander, I’m more interested in those other things.
Chock full of the things that make a book enjoyable … great characters, plotting on both the author and character levels, tight writing, and fantastic infrastructure (world building).
I could have done without the (repeated from last book) digression into why they had no beer aboard, this time at a page and a half. There is a lot of repetition of certain things, like why no one has to call the ambassador ‘ser,’ or why Henry trusts her enough to not have to knock before coming into his office. Some of that can be argued on a half of new readers, so I’ll let it go. It’s a great story flung out over multiple star systems, species and 10 books so far. I guess some room needs to be made for new readers!

5.0 out of 5 stars The series continues strongly
This is exactly what we want from a science fiction war story! Most such series lose their way after a few books but not this one.
