You don’t have to be mad to work at the Office of Faery Godmothers. But you do have to be magic.

Saffron Sawyer is a faery on a mission. She may no longer have the same rose-tinted spectacles about her job as she once did, but she’s still determined to be the best faery godmother that there is. And when she’s given the role as leader of a taskforce designed to hunt down the elusive trolls, she knows it’s her time to step up and be counted.

Juggling her new responsibilities while dealing with difficult clients isn’t easy, however. Danger lurks around every corner - and Jasper, the handsome and powerful Devil’s Advocate, is continually looming over her shoulder in the office.

Can Saffron prove her worth to the world of magic? Or will she make one mistake too many and find herself in mortal danger?

I love how sassy Saffron is. She always gets the wildest cases! A old lady who shoots to kill & is being stalked by a crooked politician & his goons. When she meets Rose, her client, she almost gets shot by the goons as she & Rose make a run to a vehicle. It gets crazier after that. Add to that the fact that Saffron is supposed to be leading a task force to find the trolls. Can her life get any busier? Or more dangerous?
You had some mistakes that need correcting. I am reading this on my Kindle Fire.
Location 1140; This what the magical attack yesterday had been about – replacing our Mrs Jardine with an imposter. (Add is after This).
Location 1326; ‘I don’t who you really are,’ she spat, ‘but if you think I’m some stupid old woman who is willing to believe that the stuffed creature lying there is anything.... (Add know before who).
Location 2879; Ignoring the throb of pain that seemed to have taken hold of my entire body and settled so deep into my bones that it was hard to remember what it was like to pain-free, I limped across the street and through the park gates. (Add be before pain-free).
Location 3127; You’re supposed to be my side. (Add on before my).
Location 3434; I could tell they were packing up and getting to ready go. (Change to & ready. So it says "ready to go.").

I do so enjoy Helen Harper. She has a way of crafting characters and situations that make for an entertaining tale - with enough mystery and flirting (yet to read one with all out heat - not saying she hasn’t written them, just haven’t read one yet) to push the plot forward. This, featuring fairy godmother and an entire unknown realm of fairies and other magical creatures, all with jobs, is fascinating and read worthy.

    Pros:
    - Well written.
    - Love The concept
    - The devils advocate.... oh yes.
    - The metaplot and how it rolls.

    Cons:
    - Some parts were a touch slow or jumbled, not enough to hinder the story though.
    - Sigh.... moments I really felt like the FMC was smarter than me and had to really think to figure out how she has drawn the conclusions she did.

This second book in this series is as fun of the 1st one was. Helen Harper does a terrific job of creating characters with energy, unique abilities, perspectives, and flaws as well as action that keeps me coming back for more! This series has some new people to enjoy and places to explore along with her signature story lines of interest and excitement. The multiple players and plot twists with varied outcomes encourage me to anticipate the 3rd book in the series to see what happens to Saffron and her crew in the next installment. Mixing fairies, trolls, and humans certainly provides plenty of opportunities for another great read ahead!!!

Helen Harper's books are set small. They're usually about one person going about their lives. Just trying to be the best version of themselves that they can be. And then life and fate intervene and the stories become bigger. They encompass the realities of responsibility, and choices, and the way that how we think and what we do can change our whole world. And not just ours. Her books often show how we are all interconnected. Her protagonists learning to see the invisible ties that bind us all together making us more of a family than strangers.
Wish list shows Saffron beginning to go through a change. And it is a wonderful change. She is starting to see the big picture and her role in it. This book was fantastic and I cannot wait for the final book in the series! Three cheers as always Ms. Harper!

This was enjoyable but not as good as her newer detective series. There are a lot of male characters I like(Jasper, Vincent, Billie, Henry) but the females are all pretty frustrating. The world is interesting and I'm curious about why they grant wishes. I feel there must be a way it empowers their magic and society otherwise why put so much resources towards it. I definitely interested in learning more about the fairy world.

Wish List is an enjoyable continuation of this good series with unexpected characters, humour and storylines for a different style of fairy tale. It could be called how to grant wishes to the under world. The romance is hinted at but minimal. The characters and plot are strong and continue to grow. Typos distract a little. Overall, worth reading.

Three stars for a good read.

Saffron is to head the task force to find the trolls but she still has to keep up with her faery godmother clients and of course the audit Jasper is conducting. Rose is Saffron's new most difficult client and with her comes trouble with a capital t. How can she gain Rose's trust when she has to start over building a relationship with her daily? Everyone wants to be part of her task force and she is finding it increasingly difficult to make the time to even try to figure out anything about the trolls. Add to that that things have gotten really weird with Jasper or the devil's advocate as she is back transferring to him. Can she figure out what Rose's wish is before they are both killed? Can she trust Vincent to help her with Rose? Can she figure out what the trolls are up to and where they are before they strike again? This series is engaging and interesting, I love the first two books in this series. Anxiously awaiting the next book!

As always Helen Harper's world building and characters are superb. Saffron is complex, flawed, funny and warm, you root for her from start to finish. The ancillary characters are well fleshed out and add depth. The plot is well paced, and the dialogue often amusing.

I'm now off to read the third in the series, so it's safe to say that I highly recommend this series.

Really couldn't get into her last couple of series but enjoyed the Faery Godmother books immensely. The humour is back and the heroine likeable. Roll on book three.
