What an incredible experience it has been to read Nicole Snow’s Grizzlies MC stories and Outlaw’s Vow is a masterpiece! It has intrigue, violence, a drug cartel, love, HEA and SEX!! Yes, lots of the down & dirty, take no prisoners, pound you so hard til' you know you’re mine SEX we have come to expect from Nicole’s badboy alpha bikers!
This time our couple is Austin Graham (Asphalt) and Elle Jo (Asphalt refers to her as his Ell-Bell). They grow up together as neighbors with Asphalt living across the street from Elle and her father Gil, who happens to be the Prez of the Tacoma chapter of the Grizzlies MC. Boys being boys, Asphalt loves to tease and make fun of Elle every chance he gets, but what he doesn’t know is that Elle gets a little thrill every time he teases or looks her way.
Both of their futures abruptly change the night of Elle’s prom when her date wants more than she is prepared to give him and Asphalt appears out of nowhere and handles the situation biker style! Afterwards, he escorts her home where they share a kiss and then all hell breaks loose.
Elle’s father made sure to keep her away from all club business while she was growing up because he wanted a better life for her, so when he sees Asphalt kissing Elle on the front porch, he goes berserk! After hitting Asphalt a few times and shooting him twice in the shoulder, Gil runs him out of town and tells him to never come near Elle again or else!
Fast forward a few years, Elle has gone on to college and Asphalt is now a member of the mother chapter Redding Grizzlies MC. Although they both went on with their lives, neither one ever stopped thinking about the other. Elle’s father has decided to do some business with a Chinese drug cartel and he needs her help not realizing that he could be putting her in serious danger. Word of this gets back to Blackjack who is Prez of the Redding chapter and he comes up with a plan which would allow the club to keep an eye on the Tacoma chapter and find out if they’ve gone rogue.
Blackjack will have one of his men marry Elle to find out how involved, how little, or how much she knows about the club’s business dealings. Well, when Asphalt hears this he is hell bent on making sure he’s the only one she marries. He may not like the idea of a fake marriage, but NO ONE is going to have his Ell-Bell but him! Ultimately, it may be the only way to save her in the end when all hell breaks loose! When Gil and Elle arrive for the wedding, they have no idea that Asphalt is going to be the groom that was agreed upon in the arranged deal between the two MC chapters. I imagined myself in Elle’s place at that moment when she locked eyes with Asphalt for the first time in years and wondered what I would have been thinking or feeling.
After the wedding, the rest of the story involves Asphalt and Ell-Bell reconnecting and trying to sort out their intense feelings for one another amid the danger, dirty deals, and double crosses that affect everyone involved. For me, this was a emotional Grizzlies MC; experiencing Asphalt and Elle’s journey of having a future together while trying to survive the circumstances they find themselves in.
The bonus novella, Blackjack’s Secret continues right where Outlaw’s Vow ends and it answers questions while providing some tearful moments. IMO, Nicole has really done an outstanding job and I highly recommend Outlaw’s Vow and the rest of the Grizzlies MC romances!!
