Rose has read her way through countless romances over the years, “borrowing” them from her older sisters, and hiding them from her mother (Mom didn't like the sexy book covers!)

She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her. She loves a happy ever after! Now she is happy to bring this passion to her stories and share it with her readers.

On a personal note, Rose lives in North Carolina, is married, and has a terrier that barks too much. She enjoys taking him for walks to tire him out!

This is a book in a series by Rose Pearson. I have not read any others, this is the 5th. It is a story about a young women, Lady Lydia that reads, learns, and likes to speak her mind, despite her parents disapproval. They want her to marry, she does not feel she will find someone who will let her be herself. Henry the Duke of Melrose is in London to find a wife, he has an unbelievable list of requirements, that his friend says he will not find and he is extremely opposed to women like Lydia. Their paths cross and to find out what happens get this book. It is an enjoyable read and includes a mystery that needs to be solved also. Enjoy!

This is the fifth book in the Whispers of the Ton series by Rose Pearson, and it is another well-written, sweet, clean, and emotionally rich tale. The narrative beautifully highlights how being open to different perspectives can shift your own and lead to unexpected but fulfilling outcomes.

I have a particular fondness for a good bluestocking story, especially when it involves a stern, arrogant Duke with fixed opinions who is unaccustomed to changing his mind. Lydia, a dedicated bluestocking, embraces her love of learning and writing, refusing to alter her identity despite her mother's relentless efforts to push her into marriage this Season.

Feeling frustrated, Lydia confides in a friend, who surprisingly suggests she write an anonymous column for The London Chronicle, chronicling the histories of various ton members. Intrigued by the idea, Lydia immerses herself in this exciting new venture.

Henry, the Duke of Melrose, is on a quest to find a bride when he is blindsided by an article revealing a hidden truth about his late father. Stunned by what he reads in The London Chronicle, Henry is determined to uncover the truth behind the article. Lydia, the article's author, admits her involvement, and together they embark on a journey to unravel the mystery. As they collaborate, their initial misconceptions dissolve, and romantic feelings gradually blossom between them.

Though Henry initially comes across as arrogant and unlikable, the author skillfully portrays his gradual transformation as he becomes more receptive to others viewpoints. The story beautifully illustrates how his priorities shift, appreciating the value of open-mindedness. Lydia's unwavering adherence to her principles is admirable and is another reason to adore her.

If you enjoy a captivating bluestocking story with well-developed characters and an engaging plot, I wholeheartedly recommend immersing yourself in this delightful read. Rose Pearson's storytelling eloquently captures the essence of change, understanding, and love, leaving readers both satisfied and inspired by the journey.

Always enjoy Rose Pearson's stories and this is no exception. There is a mystery, slowly building love story, and moved along at a good pace and didn't want it to end.

What a wonderful, enjoyable read. Lydia, a self-proclaimed bluestocking, refuses to pretend she's something other than she is. Much to the detriment of her mother. She is offered and begins to write a column regarding the individuals of the Ton. In the column, Duke Henry reads some shocking information about his family and sets out to find the author. Lydia and Henry team up to get to the bottom of it, but end up losing their hearts instead. Definitely recommended.

Another brilliant story in this remarkable series. Lydia is interested in the history of some members of the Ton and is persuaded to write an anonymous column for the London Chronicle. Henry, Duke of Melrose, has been looking for a wife during the Season. When he reads an article about his family, he is shocked and searches for the author. Lydia and Henry agree to work together to find out the truth, but someone wants to stop them. The romance blossoming between this delightful couple is beautiful to see and I enjoyed this book from the very first page.

The Duke has the most outrageous ideals for a wife. It was hilarious. Couldn't wait to see him taken down a notch or two and fall in love with the blue stocking. A delightful read.
