Publisher's summary

Can two men keep a childhood promise for marital bliss?

Wyatt is overwhelmed after his grandfather dies, leaving him to take over the cattle ranch. The Triple J is floundering, vandals are targeting him, and his first and only love is finally within reach - and still holding a grudge. Wyatt has wanted to marry Diego since they made a childhood pact, but Diego isn't back for their second chance.

When a funeral calls Diego back to Texas, he comes face-to-face with the cowboy who broke his heart. Resentment has burned inside him for years, but his anger wavers as he realizes just how much Wyatt is struggling to keep his head above water. The man he once loved is lonely and burdened, and Diego feels compelled to help him rediscover the strong, capable rancher he knows him to be.

Hostility gives way to passion, then friendship as they fall into a rhythm of work and sex. Wyatt has renewed hope he might wrangle the man he wants to be his groom. But Diego has a life waiting for him 1,000 miles away, and love may not be enough to prevent history from repeating itself.

Wrangling a Groom is book two of the Marital Bliss series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It's approximately 85,000 words.

Sweet romance with a touch of angst

This is a sweet romantic story narrated wonderfully by Wyatt Baker. I liked his voices for both Wyatt and Diego which hints at their different personalities and it’s very pleasant listening to Wyatt’s narration.

Our MCs, Wyatt and Diego, were childhood friends and later lovers and the funeral of Wyatt’s grandfather who caused their broke up also brought them together again. Diego is certainly not interested in getting back together with Wyatt but his lingering affection and friendship along with time together made him rethink their relationship.

The Triple J ranch is of course loomed large in the background and it has its own character. The side characters pop out at you and makes you curious about what’s going on like between the cowhand and the newest hire.

Overall, this is a really enjoyable, sweet, and heated romance with a little angst thrown in.

Cowboys! :D

Wyatt and Diego are just made for each other. I already loved this story when I read it when it just came out. This audio version was awesome too. I really enjoyed it. The narrator did a good job bringing the boys to live.
Wyatt and Diego grew up together on the ranch. They story starts with the cutest marriage pact. I definitely recommend this book.

Series departure

I'm not expecting my world to be set on fire by the second book in any triology, but this one felt like it was starting a whole new series. After book one pulls the boy out of the Miami nightclub to put him on a wedding destination island in Maine, I was not anticipating the next story would go Texas ranch hand. There's lots of pride and passion as our MCs ride towards their HEA. I appreciated that this one addressed how there's still homophobia in rural America, but then it turned out not to be exactly what they thought. This would have made more sense to me as a stand-alone book as the connection to the series seemed thin. But the romance stands and whenever two gay guys settle down, you gotta smile.

Second Chance Love at a Ranch

This is the second book in the Marital Bliss series – a series with overlapping characters and theme of weddings and wedding venues. I read the first book in the series on Kindle and loved it, and was eager to for the next book, especially when I realized it was going to feature Diego.

Diego was first introduced as the caustic bartender that Julian was friends within book one. In “Wrangling a Groom,” we finally get the background on what caused Diego to be so biting and suspicious: six years ago his heart was broken by his best friend and first love, Wyatt. It’s a hurt Diego’s carried with him despite Wyatt’s attempts to reach out and make amends. It’s not until a funeral brings Diego back to Wyatt’s family ranch that any type of reconciliation can happen.

The emotions between Diego and Wyatt are intense and come crashing down like waves against rocks – strong, overwhelming, and undeniable. Six years may have passed, but Diego and Wyatt still love and lust after each other. This passion and the complications that result of Diego and Wyatt trying to come to terms with what it means and how to move forward, makes the book enthralling. I really enjoyed watching how these two men figure out their issues which made the journey to their happy ever after very satisfying. Plus, the sex scenes were hot and delicious.

Wyatt Baker narrates the audiobook and does a fantastic job. The characters were well voiced and were distinct and consistent which made it very easy for me to follow along in the story without having to refer back to the book. Overall, a very well done production.

Second-Chance romance and cowboys, sign me up!

I enjoyed this book and it's depiction of a romance that had a touch of realness. I think Diego and Wyatt had a relationship that was complex with all their shared history and hurts, but also not the dramatically over the top variety like some other books tend to get. I liked that they had very simple and real set backs into getting back together. They understood their past and yet the future didn't magically unfold itself for them.
Farm life was described in a realistic fashion, and if the bigoted themes where a bit too expected and cliche' I was OK with that. I enjoyed the sense of family all the characters share together, despite not being from the same bloodline, the effort each character made for the Triple J Ranch and it's future.
While not being as well written as i would have liked this was a great dear and I am already looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

do not know if I can finish this book

why, oh why does the narrator Capitalize So Many Words?!?
Watt Baker might be a good storyteller though it is difficult to say due to the melodramatic narration and the over-stressed words.
I have tried to speed it up and tried to speed it down, but nothing I do diminish the irritation level of the narration.

the narrator might be good
and the story might be good
it is just so difficult to tell because of the style of in which it is told.

I'll give it one last chance, though.
Mabey I can get through it.

Loved it!

What a roller-coaster! From friends to lovers to enemies and then lovers again. Add to the mix all the family drama and my God my poor heart. I loved this book to pieces and I was really rooting for Diego and Wyatt to finally get the happy ending they deserved. Fantastic book, well written, with wonderful characters and a great plot. Also, the narrator did an amazing job!

Jamison at her best!

I think this is the best DJ Jamison book I’ve read so far! I’m not usually one for westerns but this just did it for me. I loved the second chance, the dynamic between the two characters, the family and supporting cast, all of it was just incredible. Wyatt Baker did a wonderful job narrating too, and did some really gruff sexy cowboy voices that fit perfectly.
