White Rose Painted Red (The Painted Sinners Duet Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 459 ratings

My fresh start is finally around the corner—but so is the man standing in the middle of the f*cking road.

He could’ve died when I hit him, and his two friends are downright furious. But instead of pressing charges, they offer me a deal: work for them for six months, and they’ll let it go.

Their secluded mountain estate is vast and beautiful. Full of stolen artifacts and dark secrets.

Atticus, Elijah, and Seven might be equally alluring, but they’re also damaged and dangerous—driven by a thirst for revenge they say I can help satisfy.

Only now that they have me, they don’t seem to want to let me go. And it’s not one-sided.

Before long, their vengeance becomes my own, and I begin to understand that even if helping them claims my life, it’s too late to turn back now.

I can’t guard a heart they’ve already stolen.

White Rose Painted Red is a dark romance full of kindle-melting chemistry and possessive, damaged men who will do whatever it takes to get the revenge they crave and keep the girl they never meant to fall for.

Perfect!!
4.75 Thank you Blake & Elena for the ARC!! I absolutely LOVED THIS!! Lowkey I forgot it was why choose and so in the beginning the tension between them all my little why choose heart was SCREAMING for her to want and get them all, and I’m happy to report my heart was not let down (well, kind of but we’re not going to talk about the ending OKAY!!!) I’m mad about it and sweet baby Aurora should be mad TOO!! But enough about the ending, because I don’t think I’ll recover if I keep thinking about it *eye twitch* - jokes jokes, but for real this was SOOOO good and I absolutely need more, please!! Seven, Elijah, and Atticus are the PERFECT band of men for why choose lovers dream and I simply am obsessed with them all, okay? It happens. The FMC can’t choose and has them all, and well, same 😂 Aurora accidentally hits Seven with her car after driving on a wet, windy road fleeing her abusive POS ex and the guys immediately decide she could be of use and invite her to their home. There is so much going on the whole time, and without spoilers - you’ll be on a rollercoaster you won’t want to get off, and when it ends, you’ll want to start the ride allll over again because it’s that good and the characters, the plot, the revenge, the everything is that good you’ll want more the second you close the last page 😭😍❤️‍🔥 What to expect: 🖤 Dark Romance 😈 Why Choose ❤️‍🩹 Who Hurt You? 🏠 Forced Proximity 😏 Revenge 🫂 Found Family 🦮 Psycho Golden Retriever MMC (Seven) ☀️ Grumpy, Control Freak, DOM (Atticus) 🎨 Tortured Artist, Cinnamon Roll MMC (Elijah) ❤️‍🔥 Open Door

I'm gonna be honest I have no clue how to write this review. My mind is whirling in a million different directions. 🤯

I absolutely freaking loved White Rose Painted Red! 😍 Normally I can read a book and predict what's gonna happen next. This book has twists and turns you NEVER see coming! 🫣 These characters are each so complex. There's so much more to them than meets the eye. You know the old saying "don't judge a book by it's cover". Well in this case don't think you know everything about all the characters because you don't.

I'm trying my best not to give away any spoilers...... but there may possibly be spoilers ahead.
    *****************************************
Here's what you need to know:
(*There are possible trigger warnings in this book*)

~Aurora is just so so much more than meets the eye. She's been through heck and back but this girl has strength. 🫣
~Elijah even broken and scarred from his past is sweet and has a heart of gold. (I just wanna hug him.) 🧡
~Seven well let's just say he might be a bit unhinged but my dark little heart loves every bit of it. 😈
~Atticus (aka Daddicus) he protects his family fiercely but he's a standoffish jerk too (and right now he's in my doghouse.)🤨
~Also I'm an animal lover and Eleven (aka Ellie) she's not just a dog; she's so sweet and highly intelligent! I just want to grab her from the book and bring her home with me! 😘
    * Also I'm calling dibs on them all just saying!* 💯

(Also I may have teared up a bit, gotten mad and almost threw my Kindle a time or two but it's sooooo worth it. So don't do anything irrational just keep reading! 🙂 )

I love the pacing of the book. It gives you time to get to know each characters personality. It's not rushed. The beginning is slow moving but as you read it slowly builds up; like a puzzle, one piece at a time and turns into an epic explosion. It's like a long drawn out O. (If ya know what I mean 😉)

The Lawson sisters put a lot of work and thought into every single detail and it shows! Elena is one of my favorite authors and adding Blake into the mix whew they pack a punch! I cannot wait for the next book! I'm so excited to see what these amazing ladies have in store for us next!

(Now I'm gonna go mope around for the next few days because I have a bad case of the book hangover and it's gonna take me some time to recover.)

The way this book sucked me in, held me hostage and did not let me go. It said what responsibilities? Sit down and Take It All Like a Good Girl. Ughhhhh I am begging for book two. The fact that there is no release date yet has me more upset than I should be.

There’s still dirt on his cheek. The blood of my enemy splattered along the triple seven tattoo on his neck. And F___ if he isn’t the most beautiful monster I’ve ever seen.

SEVEN. ♥ When a man looks at you and sees you for all your scars and demons. When that same man doesn't want to heal/fix you, instead he wants to stand by your side while your demons come out and play? THAT WILL FOREVER BE MY ROMAN EMPIRE. That is all I'm going to say.

Look I get it. You're probably thinking the plot doesn't even remotely seem realistic and yeah I would agree but guess what... IDGAF. The trauma, was hitting from all angles. The spice, chefs kiss. Give me a DP moment and you got me hooked baby. On top of all that we got THREE EMOTIONALLY BROKEN MEN, sign me TF up.

Seriously though... without giving away too much, I loved the story. I loved the plot. It's a why choose romance with all the broken pieces laid out. I loved the mixed-burn angst. It fed me and I felt full until the ending. Now I want more. The cliffhanger wasn't bad but I will say the vibe at the end... Aurora, (FMC) relatable.

Aurora and her dog Elle are running from her abusive ex when she accidentally hits a guy in the middle of nowhere totalling her car. Turns out there are three of them and they call themselves brothers. She finds that she is weirdly comfortable with these men.

Having no where else to go she takes the cleaning job they offer her. The amount they offer is ridiculous especially for an extremely clean home. Atticus however sees an opportunity to finally get their revenge.

When Atticus sets her up to fail by having her cleaning Elijah's art studio things come to a head but it starts him on a path to healing.

When Elijah and Seven take her to Paris to get her hair done and buy her some clothes everything really starts to come out.

The Paris trip involves a new look, an art exhibition, grand larceny, a gun fight, and some explosive smexy times. All while Atticus is home spoiling the dog and freaking out about what is happening in Paris.

The whole story of everything that is going on is intense and tragic. Aurora is finding where she fits into this family and it is safe but also very scary letting them in. However, not everything is as it seems.

The end of this part is brutal and leaves Aurora struggling with her own demons and not speaking to one of the brothers.

I can't wait to see how he fixes that. I also can't wait to see them finally complete their mission.

Why have just one unhinged morally grey man when you can have 3?! Aurora was running away from her a-hole of an ex only to literally run into 3 unhinged morally grey men. When they offer her an opportunity to build a new life for herself and her little pup, Ellie, she just can't resist the chance. What Aurora doesn't know is exactly what she is getting into with these men....and she for sure didn't think she would enjoy it as much as she does!

The only word I have to describe this entire book is WOW. This book had it all. The characters with the back story you are dying to know more about, the chemistry, the spice, the banter. Literally everything. And of course, you have to have one group in at least every why choose and a GRUMP this one was. We border on enemies for most of the book actually. I can say that this book left me with my jaw on the ground and counting down the days for book 2!

Ok this is a new author to me, and when I saw it something just intrigued me so I signed up for an early copy and got lucky and all I can say is it hasn’t disappointed. It’s a 4.5⭐️ read for me, only because I’m frustrated that it’s ended and I want book 2, it didn’t really end on a huge cliff hanger but still heart broken and frustrated that I want book 2 and I hate waiting 😂

Firstly Aurora is absolutely amazing, even though she left a abusive relationship when she finds herself with 3 men she shows them how strong she can be, I also feel like there’s still so much more to learn about her. Seven, I absolutely love him, ‘seven-eleven’ joke had me cackling, he’s got some of the best scenes and phrases ever and I could just have him and be happy. Elijah is stunningly tortured and I can’t wait for his character development. As much as I want to love Atticus, there’s something stopping me, I’m guessing it’s the heart breaking scene towards the end of the book, I know he’s just trying to protect his family and I know he’ll be redeemed and come out for the better but right now he angers me 😂

All in all, you need to read this book because it’s so a good read and so well written but be aware there’s a book 2 and even though the cliff hanger is suspense filled you’ll be left with unanswered question and wanting more.

But now i need book two! All three
MMC's are so perfect! And my girl
Aurora is way up on the list
    for badas$ FMC's !

I love the combination of serious and in control, golden retriever psyc0, and emotionally traumatised that all 3 mmc's bring together.

My heart broke for sweet Eli when you find out about his story.

I also have new standards because of this. If he doesn't fly me to Paris for a haircut, i don't want him.

This book had me hooked from the beginning, and I love how the story starts and how she meets the guys. It's a duet and does end of a cliffhanger.

Aurora has an interesting history and skills that seem to come to light when needed, which makes me wonder what else we don't know about her. She's managed to get away from an abusive boyfriend with just the clothes on her back and her dog 'Ellie', which makes her more inclinded to take up the bizarre job offer the three strangers offer her.

Seven has a traumatic childhood, and he is the ultimate unhinged golden retriever. Doesn't think twice about killing someone if they threaten his family. He falls for Aurora first. It takes Elijah a little bit longer but not much. And the three of them bond over an action-packed trip to Paris. I loved these three together. They just clicked.

Elijah's parents welcomed Seven and control-freak Atticus to their family and taught them the family business, but they were betrayed and now want revenge. Atticus thinks Aurora could be their secret weapon.

I am so looking forward to book 2. After the way this book ended, I think it may have broken the guys' relationship, and I have no idea how Atticus could grovel enough to get back the trust he completely destroyed.

    - RH / why choose (no mm)
    - dark romance
    - morally grey mmc's
    - steamy
    - forced proximity
    - found family
    - psycho golden retriever

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book but there’s a big cliffhanger
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 29, 2025
I totally loved this book and it’s very different in style to just about every other RH I’ve read.

There are heists, there is heart breaking back story, there are illegal activities that are totally justified and there are twists and turns throughout. I think the main differences for me was one how justifiable everything was and two how the romance that developed was successfully portrayed as a sub plot rather than the main feature and yet was super super gripping.

Atticas, Elijah, Seven and Aurora are all very believable characters that just jump off the page and the back stories are so detailed rather than just to move the plot along.

I loved this book from page 1 right to the end and am desperately waiting for book 2 now as cliffhanger is heart stopping.
