Saving Jason Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 452 ratings

When David Merrow is given the task of finding a suitable soup kitchen so his company can improve their PR, he realizes he needs help. He turns to Jason Garton, the owner of the coffee house that David visits every morning. Funny how it took David so long to notice all the food and beverages Jason gives away to the homeless. Because until then, Jason had been almost invisible.
But the more David learns about him, the more intrigued he becomes. There’s something about the selfless, lonely older man that pulls David in, and what began as work becomes so much more.

Review

"The book is filled with so much Christmassy stuff it made me reach for my mulled wine and mince pies just to get in the spirit, but ultimately it's a sweet, feelgood story full of hope and joy and good tidings. Really enjoyed it." - Books Laid Bare Boys.

"Okay, so first I fell in love with the guys on the cover, then I fell in love with the guys inside on the pages. K C Wells has produced a perfect tonic for the festive period, light with just a hint of a tang to take the edge off, bubbling over with boundless emotion and some serious slow burn."

"If you enjoy a May to December story, and/or a sweet Christmas story, and/or a first time lover story...in short, if you enjoy a story that will feel like a warm blanket and open fire on a cold day, you'll want to read Saving Jason."

"Saving Jason was a 5-star holiday romance for me, and is definitely going to be on my annual re-read list. I highly recommend this wonderful story to any M/M romance fan."

"The gradual evolution f their feelings made the physical moments that much more tender, sensual and eventually explosive."

'Saving Jason' is the story of David Merrow, a PR man, and Jason Garton, owner of a coffee shop. This is told in third person through both David and Jason’s pov.

'Saving Jason' is a slow blossoming romance that takes place over the holidays. Don’t expect a lot of action, because there isn’t any. David is tasked with finding a soup kitchen that can be used to improve the image of his company. Luckily the coffee shop he frequents is owned by Jason who happens to volunteer at a soup kitchen. With Jason’s help, David is able to complete his project, while at the same time spending time with Jason.

I liked the slow development of David and Jason’s relationship. David has difficulty getting Jason to open up and so he takes it upon himself to start asking questions. Jason hasn’t told anyone about himself, the only ones that know are Jason’s ex-wife and his son. Jason is filled with guilt over his past bad choices and because of his age, mid-forties, he’s resigned to remaining alone. He also tends to be anxious and isn’t sure how to deal with his attraction to David. It’s good that David is proactive. David is outgoing but dedicated to his work. He’s not much of a relationship person until he meets Jason. The author did a good job creating Jason’s insecurities, I found them realistic. I also liked the way his personality was revealed through David’s actions. Jason needed to be wooed, and that was what David did. I could see them as a couple. I did have a bit of uncertainty about David in the beginning, because he seemed to change personalities after the first or second chapter. It didn’t feel like his personality went through growth as much as what he was like in the beginning wasn’t what he was like later in the story. It didn’t seem as if his personality was consistent. Whereas Jason’s was slowly revealed. So, Jason was my favorite character of the two men.

There is sex in the story and it happens at the appropriate time and is very romantic. It suited Jason’s personality to have the sex happen when and the way it did.

'Saving Jason' is easy to read and flowed well even though it was slow paced, but the pace didn’t bother me. There are some Christmas elements in this story, especially the romantic date in New York city, which was very descriptive and easy to imagine. However, there is the mention of Trump Tower, which ruined the story for a while until I could get my mind off it. The book ends with a sweet HEA. I would read more about this couple. I give this book, 4 Stars.

I love KC Wells stories they never disappoint. This story to me took me home to Brooklyn New York and jogged nicely my memory of certain places and things. I loved the meeting of my heros and the unexpected thing that brought them together. The story flows effortlessly and you find yourself excited because you cannot wait to see what will come next. This is is totally sweet and they also get totally hot with each other. I loved Jason even more once he came out of his shell and asked for what he desired most. This was an enjoyable read. Well done KCW..

Adman David’s & coffee shop owner Jason’s relationship started out about a work business project but ended up about love. This is a slow burn, a very romantic shorter story. I bought/purchased a bunch of these short stories because they were free or 99 cents. I am enjoying all of them. This book is not exactly a Christmas/Holiday book. It just takes place the last three months of the year. It is a really good story. Good characterization. Very believable. I really enjoyed it.

I love a good Christmas tale, and this one doesn't disappoint.

In this story, we get to know David and Jason, two men who are different from one another in a lot of ways, but who find common ground between them. Though Jason is older, due to circumstances, his experience with men isn't as vast as David's.

Amidst a common purpose, these two find one another, their romance a sweet slow burn, just the way I like it.

    Wonderful, feel good Christmas tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars My dose of happy Christmas and winter reading 2016/17 #4

When his boss asks David to find a Soup Kitchen in New York City, the young PR knows, his job will be to make the already successful law firm look even better. David pulls his view from people watching outside his favourite café place to the inside and for the first time really sees Jason, the owner, giving out free coffee to homeless people. Soon David relizes, that thanks to Jason,he has found way more than just the place his boss wanted. Jason intrigues and attracts him on so many levels. Although Jason is much older than David, the age difference is no issue at all. David is genuenly interested in learing more about the kind and reserved older man. I love how respectful and mindful David treats Jason and slowly tries to win his friendship and maybe more.

What first got me puzzled was the title. „Saving Jason“ suggested something action-dramatic to me, which almost made me dismiss the book. I craved something Christmasy heart warming and sweet instead. Glad the blurb and cover pic made me look beyond. This story is exactly what I had been looking for, only way too short. I hope I can read more about this lovable couple soon. Thank you K.C. Wells for letting me escape into the winter-sweet world of your book completely for a little while.

I love Holiday themed books, this one is no exception. I can understand Jason and his insecurities, his hesitance in taking the next step. David is perfect for him. The soup kitchen background keeps the struggles of others in mind. Loved it!
