- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2025Wow! This book was so good. The insight to each Character- Jane and Ivy the moms and the dynamic between the women you meet on the play yard from your kids. Brad and Cal- one kid who is the Golden child the other living in his shadows. Emerson the girl who wants to be an influencer at the price of everything she loves. Wade the other son who has a moral compass. The husbands one blinded by love and the other a bit selfish. The story line between the two families are linked together by so much history- Do we ever really know what is going on behind closed doors? So good! I highly recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2025This was an interesting story, but honestly… most of the characters were horrible. I think there were only 4 likable people in the book, and one was a dog.

3.5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️💫
You Shouldn’t Have Done That had me hooked from the start. I devoured this thriller in one sitting. Brad and Cal had been friends since early childhood and were living out in Wyoming together in adulthood. They went skiing and Brad left injured and Cal seemingly disappeared. There were many twists and turns throughout this book. It was quite a roller coaster of a ride to read. It was a story of family ties and explored the dynamics of struggling family relationships, strained family-friend rivalries/ friendships. I was able to figure a few of the twists out but some of them I did not quite see coming.
I recommend this thriller if you are interested in a quick page turner with multiple twists and turns. I loved this Liz Alterman’s book and I’d love to read more of her writing

5.0 out of 5 stars You Shouldn't Have Done That - Superb read!
Here is my review for You Shouldn’t Have Done That by Liz Alterman
This was a brilliant psychological read which I loved and I got so engrossed in reading the book, I found I couldn’t put the book down as I wanted to carry on reading it so I knew what happened next, it was so intriguing! The storyline was brilliantly intriguing, what really happened when Brad and Cal went skiing that Saturday afternoon? The two families had known each other for years and everything was fine between them until now. Suspicion is rising and the story is getting interesting. The author has written this story superbly and you can feel the tension and the suspicion throughout the book. The characters are well written and play their parts well. I thought this was a great read and I look forward to reading more from this author.
