On an impetuous journey to stop her father making an unsuitable marriage, Griselda Farquarson meets dashing Tom Thorpe. They fall instantly in love and into trouble. After she indulges in a sensual clandestine encounter with him, Griselda is forced to face the consequences of her reckless disregard for the rules of society. For this is England in 1816 and Tom is a wealthy baronet, caught up in a net of emotional entanglements and family conflicts. Determined to do the right thing and preserve Griselda’s reputation, he must face the ruin of his own. As a whirlwind of scandal engulfs them, will Griselda and Tom be able to transform their passionate attraction into a true and lasting happiness or will their love be destroyed by it?

Moving from the Norfolk countryside to the fashionable drawing rooms of London, Reckless Griselda is a hot-blooded regency romantic comedy that asks the question: should you let your heart rule your head?

I really enjoyed this, had a hard time putting it down. Rooted for the characters as they made their blunders.

I enjoyed this book very much. When the story begins Griselda dressed in men's clothing is traveling to get to Cromer where her brother is. She has traveled in a mail coach than she is walking, and sleeping outside. She encounters a complete stranger in an old run down abbey who is drawing. She comes across as implusive; it starts to rain and they stay an the inn where they have a sexual encounter and it is her first time. There is an attraction, morning comes and she leaves without knowing who he is. She finds her brother, Hugh and tells him their father is getting married but not for love but for her money. He is upset she has run away, takes her to their aunt who has a daughter Caroline who is engaged to Tom Thorpe. Who turns out to be the same man she slept with at the inn and who she has feelings for. The story really takes off this point. His mother demands he marry Lady Mary daughter of the man she is planning to marry; he refuses. He informs them he is marrying Caroline. I could go on but it would ruin the story for other people. I would read again.

The characters are interesting, but a few of them are so lacking in character that you want to dismiss them from the book. And, of course, the heroine always has to run away. It eventually works itself out, but leaves you wondering about the entire book.

Griselda ventures out on a mission to stop her father from getting married, while on her journey, she meets Tom and falls in love. However, it's 1816 in England, and Griselda winds up in trouble by not following the rules of society. Tom attempts to protect her reputation, but his own is at stake. Griselda is against all odds and becomes reckless in behavior, which causes emotional issues and family conflict. Scandals begin to erupt along with a risk in their sparkling romantic relationship. Will passion fade along with their love? Beautifully written, interesting, and enjoyable. Highly Recommended!

I will not summerize because it has already been done....but i truly could not enjoy this book the charecters where not likable and the story far from plausible. the Hero is far from a gentelman and the heroine is an impetuous brat the only one i felt bad for was caroline....and even she managed to lose even that at the end

Griselda has run away from home to find her brother. Dressed as a boy she travels from Scotland to England and manages to get into all kinds of trouble. A fun romance with a very unusual heroine.
