Jesse's Christmas Kindle Edition
Can Gabriel show Jesse that a real Christmas is more than parties and plastic trees and that taking a chance on love can wipe away even the worst of memories?
For world-renowned photojournalist Jesse Connor, Christmas is a stark reminder of last year’s misery when his banker boyfriend embezzled and mishandled millions of dollars of client money, and left Jesse with unmanageable debt. The ring he’d bought to propose was the first item he had to sell, and it wouldn’t be the last thing.
With this December fast approaching, he tells his agent he’ll take an assignment to get out of the city, but he pictured Tahiti, not wintery Eden Vale, Vermont. He’d signed the contract, there was no way out, and he was trapped in a town cut off by snow. Not only that, but the entire town population of only a thousand souls was determined on dragging him kicking and screaming into Christmas, led by the sexy teacher-handyman-hotel owner, Gabriel.
Gabriel has lived his entire life in the mountains, in a place awarded Best Christmas Town, 2011. A teacher at the elementary school, he shows others that the season of goodwill unites community, family, and that love resides in everyone’s heart.
When Jesse arrives in town, lacking even an ounce of Christmas spirit, Gabriel immediately sees through his defenses and bonds with him. Despite the barriers that Jesse throws up, Gabriel is determined to show the deeply sad man what a real Christmas can be. And, who knows, after that, maybe get him to stay in Eden Vale for longer than just a few snowy weeks.

About the author

RJ is the author of the over one hundred novels and discovered romance in books at a very young age. She realized that if there wasn’t romance on the page, she could create it in her head, and is a lifelong writer.
She lives and works out of her home in the beautiful English countryside, spends her spare time reading, watching films, and enjoying time with her family.
The last time she had a week’s break from writing she didn't like it one little bit and has yet to meet a bottle of wine she couldn’t defeat.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2022It's the reason Jesse is in Eden Vale and it's what he needs to believe in again. Gabriel is all the things Jesse needs to find to believe in the wonder of Christmas again. I love this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2023Jesse had his heart shattered and world turned upside down two Christmases back. The man he planned to marry took his and other's money at Christmas Eve. Now he needs the job he agreed to because he was already paid a huge amount and can't return it. Getting to the town he isn't in the mood for Christmas. His agent about had to shove him out the door.
It changes when he meets Gabriel though. He's the son of hotel owner. He's also a teacher at the school. Jesse and Gabriel slowly get to know each other as he stays there in town. They have fun and flirt. Jesse starts feeling his heart being mended. I was glad of that since Jesse needed it.
I wanted this to last longer and to have full out sex scene. Was cute and sweet though.

The little town, the Christmas activities,
and all the loving characters that made
this a pleasure to read!! 💕💕💕💕
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2014You certainly learn why Jesse has been totally turned off of the whole package that is Christmas right away. Let's be honest, as much as Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year, even I would have been happier if I never heard the word "Christmas" again if I had been in Jesse's shoes. Talk about a buzz kill situation both for the holiday and for love. You gotta love Em, Jesse's agent, who makes Jesse fulfill his contract for a photo Advent calendar for the town of Eden Vale. And Gabriel? As much as Jonah turned Jesse away from Christmas, Gabriel is the perfect balm for that burn to Jesse's soul.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2015Well, I am not about to tell you that one of these characters stands in for Bing Crosby and the other for Rosemary Clooney, and that two others mimic Donald O'Connor and Vera-Ellen--but it's really something that just hit me a few days after I closed the book and searched for a hook for the review.
Gabriel and Jesse are Bing and Rosemary and Gabriel's mother and the school principal are Donald and Vera, and the wonderful way a New England village spins its way around the Yuletide season will have you smiling and maybe even humming a tune or two.
But seriously, folks. This is a sweet, very smartly told, tale of two instantly smitten men coming together knowing they cannot possibly be together at the end. Or, can they?
The way R. J. Scott weaves the town's Christmas pageantry through the pages makes you want to haul out the old roadster and head straight to Vermont--she captures that essence and brings out the force within it to spin another of her wonderfully romantic tales.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2018The story line is fairly straightforward and direct to the point with a happy ending its main focus. Decent character development for the length of the story and a slow buildup make this a decent read. A good addition for your holiday collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2018Jesse has been hurt horribly by an ex who was dishonest in his personal and professional life. Now he is in Vermont in an attempt to revive his own professional career. While Christmas has horrible connotation for him, a teacher shows him there is still love in his future.
A beautiful love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2022Great story. Perfect for a M/M Christmas Movie, sadly most probably without the “oral copulation”, but other than that, it’s the perfect length (🤭) for a 90 minute movie 🍿 and nothing would have to be edited out of the story unlike in most 📚. I have now read 2️⃣9️⃣
M/M🎄❤️🔥 Short Stories/Novellas, 5️⃣ of which by this ✍️. All have been enjoyed, but this is my favorite, part of which I’m sure has been helped by this being the longest (💯+ pages)…

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok
This story draws emotions out of the reader as two years after devastating events, Jesse is still angry and hurting, he has lost his muse and his Christmas spirit but meeting Gabriel has him trying to recover and rediscover himself and his love of Christmas. Gabriel is very giving, he is all about Christmas and community and he slowly draws Jesse out of his shell.
However, this story feels incomplete and needs editing and proofreading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book
I loved the slightly slower pace of this book. It wasn't all mad sex but lots of slow build and gentle growing love. A healed heart and putting loneliness behind them. Loved it x

5.0 out of 5 stars Their special Christmas
A lovely short story about two guys from different towns who meet up when one is working away from home.
and they spend a lot of time together.
Its only when the time for them to part and one to return home nears that they realise how fond of each other
they have become.
One of the best stories with a Christmas feeling that I have read its pity that it was not longer.
